So online, on April 27th, my ead updated to 'new card in production', and my ap changed to 'approved'.

On the 2 May I got my notice of approval for my ap.

However, I haven't received a notice of approval for the ead, and haven't seen anything of my actual combo card. My problem is though, I have a job offer and am not sure when I can tell them I can start!!!

I rang the service center and they said it can take 30 days for both ead combo card, and the approval notices, to show.... But is there anyway to speed up the process at all or anything I can do, as I don't want this job to slip by because I can't start yet!

Also worryingly they said the card printer had issues about a month back so they are currently facing a delay and cards could take 60 days -_-

You won't be able to start until the EAD is in your hands.

I would expect to have it within 1-2 weeks.

Same thing, I was told the card production will take up to 60 days. So 90 days to approval, plus 60 days to card in hand...

I think you can request expediting card production claiming hardships.

See other threads:

Furthermore, you can visit local USCIS office for InfoPass. I did InfoPass and the staff was able to put in expedite request to National Benefits Center, get response from NBC that the combo card is going to be delivered in 2 weeks. (Still waiting, day 6)

Also you can contact USCIS Ombudsman, or ask for local congressman's help.

You can accept a job offer and start working as soon as you have the approval notice. Your employer do not need your EAD card since they will have you file an I-9, as long as they participate in e-verify they will never see the your EAD card.

I just started a job Mon May 2nd and the only thing I did was to file the I-9 for e-verify. You know your approval date so your expiry date is the a day before 366 days ex. Approved May 2.. expire May 1st next year. I-9 require your msc#, A# and exp so no issue there since you should have those already.

Good luck!
