Any idea how long it takes to get the greencard in hand. Approval letter for VSC April 25....we are moving out of state May 30. Ive heard it's been around a month so cutting it close. This is just as stressful as waiting a year for the approval!

According to uscis it could takeep upto 2 months. But many people get it within 2 weeks of the Noa letter as long as all is well with the address. Congrats.

Hubby received the "Congratulations your approved for your green card" letter today!! From VSC and they haven't updated anything online yet. Still says they received our things May 24, 2016. Looks like May filers are having some luck with VSC now. I'll let you guys know once he gets his green card. We're going to start on Citizenship papers soon after.

Anyone have the link to the spreadsheet so I can update it?

VSC - May filer here.

Wife rcv'd I-797, Notice of Action today 4/28/2017.  Approved with no interview!  USCIS has not updated her online case status yet.  Letter states she should rcv her Permanent Resident Card within 60 days.

Date of Decision: 04/23/2017, which was a Sunday.  Could this mean that VSC is working weekends now or have they always worked 7-days a week?

No, they don't work weekends - it seems like sometimes the system updates at odd times. I'm sure that's why. Congrats! I hope once VSC gets up even with CSC that they'll both move forward together! CSC seems to have ground to a halt, but VSC is getting caught up!

When we consulted a lawyer to get the Conditional Green Card he told us to wait until we had the 10 year card in hand. I've heard other people saying submitting citizenship papers will push the I-751 approval faster, so honestly it's up to you. I would say wait, or consult a lawyer first.

It depends on her situation. Sending in N-400 before ROC is approved helps in some situations and hurts in others.

Let's say for example you filed ROC and became eligible for citizenship 3 months after filing. If ROCs are taking 1 to 1 1/2 to be adjudicated filing N-400 early will be a good idea because it will be likely that interview for citizenship will be scheduled before ROC would have been approved (ROC will be adjudicated at N-400 interview).

This is your scenario:

You're (your wife) is a May filer and May ROCs have already started getting approved. If your N-400 application hits the system before your case if adjudicated it may cause a delay. I don't have concrete proof or firsthand experience of this but I've heard that they may wait until your N-400 interview to adjudicate your ROC. I've also heard that you won't get an actual Green Card if you're approved while N-400 is pending.

If your wife doesn't need to have a physical GC within a year I'd say file the N-400. But it she needs a physical GC, you may want to wait till ROC is approved.

Reasons she may need a physical GC:

1. For the job

2. To obtain or renew driver's license

3. For travel purposes.

Some people have reported difficulties in these situations when a physical GC is not present.

Good Luck!

Stamped the passport yesterday (5/1/17) in Atlanta.

Original appointment was at 09:15am but seen around 10:00am due to busy Monday.

The rep was very professional and kept the GC and said that they haven't touched my case yet.

Stamp is valid for one year until 2018.

354 days and still waiting!... I am hoping to hear something this or next week.

Cheers!
