Alright fellows, after thinking about it for a while, I have decided to start a Scan Date to Case Completer Spreadsheet. Those who would like to share their Scan Dates and/or Case Complete dates can post them in this thread. I will put the dates in the spreadsheet and share a link here in a day or two.

Also, would also appreciate if someone can volunteer to carry to load with me. Thanks and good luck on immigration process.

Come join the Scan Date to Case Complete thread. To be added to the Scan Date to Case Complete spreadsheet, simply post your Scan Date and/or Case Complete date in the thread. You will be added to the spreadsheet which is available now.

How are you planning to implement the spread sheet? Google docs?

Perhaps it will be easier for you if it is self updated by users to see how it goes, hopefully every body cooperates with good behavior and do not tamper or sabotage the data.

I have seen one for ROC (Removal of Conditions) where who ever started posted detailed instructions to VJ membership on how to self update the spread sheet and seems to work pretty well.

If it works you can add more fields like RECEIVED by NVC and CASE/INVOICE issued.

Hi Debbie, you just read my mind. I was going to PM both of you about adding this to your first post and your signature.

This won't be easy, its a lot people. What is your opinion about self updating like the spreadsheet for ROC.

It might be good. But I can attest for my spreadsheet people aren't god at spelling or even VJ member name. I go and check to see if the name they put is on vj if it isn't they don;t get added. Some people put phone numbers, case number misspelled names. It can be a mess.

I would say on average get 3 to 5 a day of wrong info. Or K1's or Visitor Visa adding. I like it that you fill out the form that goes to a spreadsheet that only I can see from here that info gets put on the spreadsheet.

But if people don't have that 2 to 4 hours a day (for real and for me interview scheduling days OMG but I love this that's why I been doing it for 4 years now.)

I wish I had more time to help with this, but I am not retired from the work force yet.

Your way is more effective and accurate but very time consuming.

Yes, Google docs spreadsheet is what I have in mind. After reading dhweels post about people getting names and other info wrong that regularly, I am thinking about people posting their Scan Date and CC date here. Then me putting them in the spreadsheet that everyone can see.

What do you mean by "RECEIVED by NVC" and "CASE/INVOICE issued"? Isnt RECEIVED by NVC same as Scan Date? and not sure what you mean by CASE/INVOICE issued. Care to explain?

RECEIVED by NVC is when the package is transfered from USCIS to NVC. It takes from 10 to 15 days for NVC to acknowledge they received it.

CASE/INVOICE issued: It takes another 10 to 20 days after NVC received the case from USCIS to put it in their system and assign a CASE number and INVOICE ID number.

Once the case has a number and invoice ID then the you continue with the process which is:

1. DS-261

2. Wait for AOS invoice and pay fee

3. Wait for IV invoice and pay fee

4. Wait for DS-260 to open and file it.

5. Send the AOS and IV packages

When NVC receives the packages they scan both, and that generates the SCAN DATE.

Then 30 to 45 days after SCAN DATE if no check lists are generated the case is completed.

Last but not least, it can take few days to couple of months the Interview Letter is sent by NVC informing when is the date of the Interview.

I guess you were missing half of the story.

Hi Frankjavir, I have a question from looking at your timeline: It says you recieved a welcome email from AskNVC@state.gov AFTER completing DS-261. Is that normal? We got the welcome emails a few days ago and that's how we found out our Case # and IID...but now I can't login to do the step 1!
