Welcome to the Case Complete to Interview Monthly thread.

You can view my spreadsheet Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet

To update your interview date go here. Case Complete to Interview Form

For New people to the thread please go Case Complete to Interview Form and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form.

Everyone should be clicking on the Portal tab to visit the information for their country. If nothing is there or information needs updating. Update or add.

Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.

Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews.

FAQ

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?
When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

How to expedite at NVC?

Go to this link has good information how to go about it.

usman050 The IRS transcripts and Tax Return are all copies and even the AOS. Whichever document that needs your signature has to be submitted with your wet signature i.e not a photocopy or scanned copy of a document with your signature.

Final update: well, yesterday morning Canada Post finally got their act together and my wife's passport arrived at the correct post office. She drove there right away to pick it up and then went on to the border for her POE at the Peace Arch near Vancouver.

She said the border guard was very nice and aside from a few computer glitches the final processing went very smoothly. She arrived at our house near Seattle later that afternoon and we went out last night for a celebratory dinner. Thank goodness this is all behind us now and we can get on with our marriage living together under the same roof!

Thanks again to all for their input and advice on these forums and good luck to all the rest who are waiting for their cases to be finished!!

AOS got signatures ,,

so that means we need to carry original aos to interview and not scanned copy?

Will I need my Joint sponsors household members birth certificate? it wasn't with the AOS packet, but I don't want to risk not having anything?

When the US Embassy in Fiji received our cases from NVC (by mail) they sent us an email with the actual requirements needed for the interview. This included petitioner's BC and divorce decree(s), 1099 - MISC or business registration etc These were all the documents that I didn't even think they would have asked for so we had to use FeDex to ship those documents asap before the interview. Did you receive any email from the Embassy regarding your interview lately?...

If you have those BC's and can take them to the interview then go for it!

Will I need my Joint sponsors household members birth certificate? it wasn't with the AOS packet, but I don't want to risk not having anything?

We got a letter from Montreal telling us what paperwork is required to bring.... And original birth certificates of sponsor (we don't have one) if applicable! If you can get ahold of it take it for sure! And you guys are 4 days and counting and we are 5.... I had my first bit of nerves this morning finally, though they have dissipated now thankfully! Lol, I am sure I will get more and more nervous as the days pass.... Good luck girl, we got this!!

I got a letter with in the P4 saying what they had etc. but it didn't tell me in depth what we needed to bring! Soooo I opted to bring it all. lol I have a FULL copy of our AOS and I only sent in my Joint sponsors, not her Husband (household member) however she alone makes enough to sponsor my husband. And they NEVER asked for his so I wasn't sure if I should try and get a copy...

Btw don't forget, you also count as a sponsor so make sure he has your BC. (: Good luck to you guys tuesday, I hope to give you good news Monday morning/noontime (: And yessss the nerves come and go.
