Hello all,

sorry if this has been answered already. There is a lot to take in. I am engaged to a French girl. We have flown back and forth to see each other and we are very much in love and wish to be married. However, I am 18 years older then her!

Will this be a red flag? is there anything I can do ahead of time? Address the issue in a letter when sending the I-129F?

thank you in advance!

Yes, it is a red flag but, she can't be denied a visa based on the age difference. What you should do is collect as much relationship evidence as possible to prove that what you have is bona fide. It shouldn't be a big problem for your embassy but, either way, you should include this evidence in your I-129F petition. A letter won't hold much weight in relation to the countless chats, call logs, etc. that you can provide.

Nope, my wife and I have a 17 year difference and wasn't and hasn't been an issue.

is there anything I can do ahead of time?

Generate lots of different evidences of a legitimate relationship.

Address the issue in a letter when sending the I-129F?

Why draw attention to something that is none of anyone's business? You are both adults? You are free to live your lives as you see fit.

Hello, I am from Czech and my husband is 17 years older, Age was never an issue, also France is not high risk country so I think you should be fine , when relationship is real there is nothing to be worried about, good luck :)

If you are both at least 18 years old, then you are adults and can do whatever you want. My wife and I have a 17 year difference and we had and still do not have any issues with that.

is there anything I can do ahead of time?

Nothing needed.

Address the issue in a letter when sending the I-129F?

What would you say? Nothing needed. You will still have to prove to the Embassy CO during the interview that you have a legitimate relationship. Your word alone is not enough.
