Hi Chitti,

Where is your wife from (city)? if she is in any of the metros, she can fix an appointment with the Apollo hospitals (Check the embassy approved Apollo Hospital List or call one in your city to check if they do the Visa Medicals for US). If they do, take an appointment.

Your wife may ave to spend an entire day or at least 6 hours there. They will ask he about the vaccinations that she has already taken. Is she doesnt remember or doesnt have any of the records, then they will give her the necessary shots on the same day (shots that are age appropriate).

Once all the test is done, she can collect the sealed envelope the next day.

But, she can have this done only after the Embassy send the interview letter to her. Also, in the meantime, she can get the Hep B vaccine and HPV vaccine since these two are very imporant for women.

All the best.

You're Welcome Chitti.

Ask her to check with the Hydrebad Apollo Hospitals if they do the K1 Visa Medical Exam. If they do, then best to just complete it at Apollo.

As for the long list of Vaccines that LinJoe has posted, many of them are not age appropriate. So just go to the hospital and they will give her the shots that they think she needs to have at her age, since Polio and MMR are for kids and Tet shots are good for 10 years!

Once case is completed the Embassy will receive it anywhere from 15 - 30 days and an additional 10 days for them to send the email or the packet mail. I never received the email however, after 10 days i received the mail package.

Oh that's good to know! i was worried about my husband having to get all of those shots since it was listed on the Dept of State's website.

To piggy back off Chitti's question, I have one that goes along with it.

What if you don't have medical records that show you had polio and MMS? My husband mentioned he doesn't have medical records from 1979 that shows which vaccinations he received. When he goes to his medical, the doctor will give him all of them? i don't know if Dallas will check the records at POE.

Neither did I have the records from back in 1981. However, the doctorss in India know that polio and MMR are not age appropriate. Those are given within the first few months of birth. So do not to worry about it. Like i said earlier, the Apollo hospitals do make things a lot easy for everyone.

I did the mistake of Taking MMR again and told the panel physician at Apollo, It kinda raised a red flag with her. Its best to just go there and let them tell us what to take and what not to. however, if your husband has enough time before the visa interview, then he should just get the Hep B vaccine and keep the records for that though.
