Good Morning,

Hope every one is well, I have a question whilst my partner can support me and is well over the 100% threshold (he's in the military) we are waiting for the documents for him to mail to me.

Am I able to prove that I can support myself as well or instead? I have an amount of savings which would potentially support myself for 18 months (if I were to calculate using the 125% threshold). Can I do that? I read something on the US visa website: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#8

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I think I have read that although the website suggests it is possible London doesn't accept self sponsor, I'm sure that someone will tell you if I'm remembering this wrong

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

London accepts self-sponsor! Absolutely. Take financial statements showing your assets. If they consider what you have as enough, they accept it.

I shall take my savings account statement with me showing the full amount I have. Would I have to show 125% or the 100% due to my other half being in the military?

It doesn't work that way with assets of the K1 beneficiary You show a bunch of savings and they decide if it is enough. There is no published amount. Subjective decision by the officer.

I self sponsored, do not know the current amount, not a lot, enough for 90 days.

Some time since I have seen anyone mention a specific number.
