hello. we were just reviewing our file and noticed 2 mistakes, don't know if it can be corrected, 1. in the letter explaining how we met, instead of March 2015 we wrote March 2014. 2. In mother's date of birth, instead of 1964, we typed in 1965. how do u think such an error can be corrected? can we call USCIS to inform them?

This is an older post about the subject and what the applicant was told during a phone conversation with USCIS could still be revenant, as the information sounds pretty solid for today.

I have also read in my research that most makes, like the one you made, is not a deal breaker and can be repaired at the interview. Keep in mind, that many who are applying make a mistake of some kind, so they don't penalize you for your error.

Let us know what you end of doing. Education goes a long way for those who follow your footsteps.

Thanks alot. I think we will just wait and allow it to be corrected during interview as we are yet to even receive NOA2. we are only hoping the date of how we met doesn't lead to a RFE as since we put down 2014 instead of 2015, the person reviewing might be needing evidence of on going relationship from 2014 and not 2015. what do you think?

It's hard to say how close they look at dates and evidence. If you get an RFE and return it ASAP, you are only going to loose about 3 weeks. Not that big of a deal. Just a little disappointing as we all look back on ourselves and ask "how could I have missed that". So don't be hard on yourself. This process is really easy, the problem is we are our own worse enemy. Sit back and control what you can control. Keep positive.

Thanks

Not what I am looking for. What I don't see is anything that shows what the continuing status is. They only view I see right now is up to NOA2. I was wondering if there is a view that shows the continuing process for people without having to have to go to each individual page. Might be for an admin to answer, not sure if that is even available. Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

Then you have to go in to the specifik country since it is very different from country to country how it is done from there.

I mean everybody get sent to NVC and after that the embassy but after that it is very different. Some get a package 3 some don't, some have to have the case number to do the medical some don't, some book their own medical some have to wait for it to be booked for them. Therefore you can only compare timelines with people from your own country. I hope that made sense. :)

There is this: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op3=33 .

But, really, after the NOA2, the file goes to NVC for only a very brief time (to assign case number and send to embassy). Then, it is entirely a matter of the embassy's procedures for that country and how quickly you get everything done. Best to check embassy forums for your specific timeframes.

Hi All! I recently found this forum and thank God for that! It feels amazing to have and see the support everyone has for each other on here. I (petitioner in NY) don't have much support from my family so I really appreciate all the love here.

I received our NOA1 on Jan 21 and according to VJ, should get an answer by March 5 - 8. Im super nervous our case might take longer than that. My fiance is a citizen of Guyana but is currently in Canada (Toronto area) on a student visa that expires late Aug of this year.

Love and prayers to you all! Hope we all get some good news soon!
