Change of topic- the lady who committed that awful act of violence yesterday in san Bernadino was brought here on a K1 visa. I'm sure the consular officer never questioned her age, fertility, and because she was of the same race and culture culture of her fiancé, a US male

Citizen she got here without a problem.

I pray the consular officer gets fired.

Incompetence all around. That's more horrifying than anything.

Hi All,

First of all I want to sympathize with the families of the victims of the horrific San Bernardino shootings. I am from Pakistan and my interview (K1 case) is scheduled in a couple of weeks. I want to ask if the San Bernardino shootings will in any way effect K1 visas from Pakistan. Will they start putting K1 visas in AP since one of the shooters was Pakistani who went on K1 visa to US? My fiancee and I are now really worried if that would effect cases from Pakistan and our case. Any legal expect's opinion would really be helpful.

Thanks.

Many cases from PK go into AP after a visa interview. It is common even before this tragedy.

There are many stuck in AP for a very long time prior to the attack in California. I also wonder if this will make it even worse than it already is.

Just wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any comments as to what the outcome for K1 Visa Filers will be after this weeks events.

The woman who committed the horrible MURDERS came here on a K1 Visa. I'm sure the CO took extra consideration as to her age, and being of the correct child bearing years, cultural match and for sure her fiancee had the intent to marry her. I'm sure each and every one of their family members knew and supported this engagement when they took her cell phone at the embassy, or she probably didnt even carry one, The smart ones know how not to get caught in this system and get in evey time. So the intnetion was to get married .as well as buy WEAPONS together in this country, The USA Sold this woman a GUN several guns! to kill innocent people. Innocent US Citizens, Way to go CO. just got real...And I cannot think of a better example of how incompetent these CO's are. And the whole system. This may put a freeze on K1 Visas all together,,,for us innocent people who want to marry our loved ones. Wondering how everyone is feeling about this. I would hope as angry as I am.

Thanks for reading.

He was not Pakistani. His parents belong to Pakistan only. He was an American and that was 355th shooting in US this year. I strongly believe and hope they would see and judge your case only and your charcter, rather then judging you on the basis of few cruel people who are putting the name of Pakistan and the muslims all around the world in .

My case is about to complete hopefully (InshAllah) and I am also worried for my interview because of this recent incident. As we are innocent people having our spouses and fiances there in US waiting for us, all we can do is be positive and pray to God that we may succeed. Ameen

There already is a long topic about this.

And putting what happened on the shoulders on a CO shame on you

Agreed. May as well just blame her mother for birthing her.

It wont have any effect on K1 visas, as it won't effect the sell of weapons either.

Do you have any sort of basis for the claim that "the smart ones" get in every time?

To the best of my recollection, there has been no terrorist attack perpetrated on U.S. soil by a foreign national visa holder since 9/11. Someone must have done something right at some point.

No, there will not be a "freeze" on K1 visas, just as there was no freeze on student visas following 9/11. There may be certain changes, but no freeze.

Why do you keep going on? The CO has nothing to do with that horrific shooting. How you can blame that person is beyond me!
