Hey everyone. I have a few questions. I've been self employed for the past two years. In 2014 I made 8,500 and in 2015 I'll make around 14,000. Because I'm self employed I need to send a copy of my tax return which means if I bring it with me when I visit my fiancé in December it'll be the 8,500 form 2014. (Her interview date will probably be in March) My first question is if after I file in January should I also send her a copy of my 2015 tax return. My second question is does it really matter being that I need a Co-Sponsor anyway?

Lastly, can anyone give me a link to a forum or something on VJ that talks about how to do a Co-Sponsorship with the K1 visa.

Yes, send the 2015 if you file in January. If they don't have it, they'll likely give you an RFE.

As for a co-signer, it is required if you don't meet the minimum income. It's not a big deal to have one.

What I meant was if I file for taxes in January (as in before the interview) should I send 2015 as well. I've already filed the aplicación and have my NOA2. Sorry about the confusion. Secondly, I don't meet the minimum income requirements which means I don't need a co-sponsor. I was wondering if there is any special paperwork I/They need to fill out for it or don't we both just fill out and i134?

If you have the 2015 taxes before her interview, then yes, give her a copy of that most recent return to take.

As for how to use a co-sponsor, Your co-sponsor needs to meet the requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e). They fill out their own separate I-134 and provide their supporting documentation: most recent tax transcript(or complete copy of return), and proof of current income such as letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs. Add in proof that the co-sponsor is a USC or LPR. Your fiance(e) will hand your I-134 and supporting documents along with the co-sponsor's at the interview when asked for them.

hi

you can have only one joint sponsor, the i134 is not the same as the i864 where the joint sponsor can combine income with a household member

the i864 is the affidavit after you marry and file adjustment of status for your wife

so your father or mother must meet all the requirements or you will have to find a joint sponsor that does, you cannot have both of them

I'm not sure if I understand or if maybe I confused you. Okay in my situation I'm the usc applying for a k1 visa for my fiance. I make under the financial requirements there for I need a joint sponsor. If I understand you correctly, your saying that that that's true however my joint sponsor can not be both of my parents, it has to only be one of them? (together neither of them make enough separately to meet the requirements, if that's the case do I need to find someone else?

The I-134 only allows for one co-sponsor that meets the requirement on their own. However, it is not unheard of for each parent to supply an I-134 and their joint tax return along with proof of income from each, OR an I-864 from one parent and an I-864A from the other.

You could take both with you to the interview, and cover bases and hope for the best, OR find a co-sponsor that meets the requirement on their own for their household size plus the foreign fiance(e).

Sooo.. I have a similar issue in that I will have no 2014 tax returns ( unless my accountant can hurry up and re-create the files that were corrupted in early October prior to filing..:( I may have to get a co-sponsor though I have assets, income, etc. because it will be 2013 taxes..

My parents will do it for me without a problem or a business partner but would prefer not to have to go that route...
