You're right - if you're denied there is no appeals process. Sorry!

That said, if your marriage is legit, then do not worry!

See my timeline and my posts - I'm a Brit too, and my interview was amazingly short.

Good luck!

You always have the option of him being the one to move.

Most people do not have an issue an uusally they woul issue an RFE for more info.

i dont know im sorry guys im just a extreme worrier and i keep thinking in my head im going to be automatically denied because we dont have the fancy joint car insurance or house lease ect like most people do at the end of the day i love my husband and i want to be over here because he just got a promotion everything amazing for him right now i would feel terrible if he had to move because i messed up.

We dont have joint insurance, we dont have joint bank accounts (we cant in Massachusetts until I became a resident). We dont have joint credit card accounts, but I do have a credit card and put her as an authorised user last month, and similarly she has one, and added me.

But... here's the point.... The interviewing officer didn't even ask - so as far as he's aware from the evidence he's seen, we have nothing joint.

The evidence he based his decision on was:

Our application

Our photo album

Knowing where each others tattoos were

Knowing if the other smoked

Knowing if the other knew family names / kids names / kids birthdates.

You're from the UK - and it is my understanding that us Brits are a low target on their radar. If your relationship is genuine, they will see it as such - that is what they're concerned about now that you're married - PROVIDING they don't think your relationship is a farce, you should be fine.

You must have already provided evidence that your income (or sponsor thereof) is sufficient because if you hadn't you wouldn't be at interview stage.

My advice is to take a moment; Take a step back; Try to relax, and be yourselves.

My wife couldn't remember which shoulder I had a tattoo on, and he just laughed - I think they're looking more at body language than the actual verbal answer.

For what it's worth, I think you'll do fine.

Please do respond to this thread on monday. and let us know how you get on.

The best of British luck!!!!

It's understandable to have anxiety with such a process BUT you need to take it easy. You're not the first person who has adjusted from VWP with half the cup of evidence and you won't certainly be the last. It's highly unlikely your AOS will be denied for such a reason as the interview isn't based solely on evidence provided. There is the personal part of the interview to compensate as well and that's where most people with few evidence but genuine relationships make up for. Don't let this worry consume you and mess up even parts of the interview you could've satisfied. Majority of the time will be spent going through information on the application you submitted on forms as well as security questions. What's sent is already sent so go there and show you're a real couple and you'll be approved even with a cup half full. If it comes to the worse you'll get an RFE or possibly a stokes interview (which you can certainly still pass provided you're in a genuine relationship). Fraud/lies/inconsistencies are what can certainly cause an outright denial.

Good luck on Monday. Make sure you are together for interview. We were told our time together in the waiting area was also watched and the familiarity between us helped.

Take everything you can that details your life together, even if it isn't the documents that you wish you had. Take originals and copies of your together photos, especially with family, to leave as part of your file. We printed them smaller into about 4 pages of paper. They asked to keep the copies. We were both asked and wanted to be sure I actually knew the names of friends and family who were in the photos with us.

Currently my husband and I only share a joint account. We don't currently have the ability to get credit cards as he has bad credit and I can't work yet. We're looking into putting me on the car insurance, but mainly we just have a bunch of pictures with family, friends and just of the two of us. We'll try and get whatever we can get before the interview but I'm not going to stress about the inconsequential stuff. Just because you have joint assets doesn't necessarily prove a legitimate marriage, it's how you interact and know each other that truly counts.

You're a fellow Brit too, so they know how crossing over into the USA isn't as much of a risk than other countries. If anything it would be much easier for our spouses to live in the UK, with all the insurances and healthcare fees.

Just relax, as stressing yourself out is only going to make it worse and put a strain on your relationship.

Don't stress out too much. If you have a legit relationship, there's no need to worry. Me and my husband just had our interview a week ago and the lady just asked us about our personal info (name/bday) and what we ate for dinner the day before lol I brought an album though to show her our latest pictures and that's it. Got my green card yesterday. You'll be fine so relax. Good luck!
