Parental Responsibility when applying for K1/K2

I have sole parental responsibility for my daughter who will be coming with me from the UK to the US, her father is not on the scene and has no PR/isn't registered on her birth certificate etc. As nothing had ever gone to court, are there any other documents other than her full birth certificate that I need to obtain in order to make sure the interview goes smoothly? I work for a law firm and have been advised that there is no such form but obviously immigration wise I just want to be certain. Many thanks

To be safe i would prepare an affidavate stating this / i hold my paralegal ceritificate and prepared many for immigraiton and they accepted

As you are in a law firm, you know the standard for the document / same for one under British law as US law

Can you please elaborate on this? I am a Paralegal but the family lawyers said I wouldn't need to provide anything other than her birth cert. Thanks

From my experience observing London experiences since 2008, there have seen a few with no way to get a signed statement from the father. No father named on the birth certificate should work. Another woman said at her interview she had no idea how to locate the father. They pulled out an affidavit for her to sign stating such. That was at least 5 years ago and the only one who ever reported that. There have been a few who weren't even asked. So it has been all over the place with experiences, I suppose depending on the officer.

I think the suggestion made by Adil &Jeanne is a really good plan. Take in a prepared affidavit where you state he is not on the BC, and has never seen the child, or has made no contact for x years, provides no support...whatever the story is.
