I-130 Approved; waiting for Case Number

Hello everyone! My I-130 has been approved by the USCIS Field Office in London for my wife (yay!) but now we are waiting for the letter from the Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Embassy in London. It's been a couple weeks now, and I'd really like to get that number so that we can book the medical and get the process moving as soon as possible.

I've emailed the embassy, but only received a stock reply saying it could take up to 8 weeks. I've tried calling the NVC in the USA, but can't seem to get through on their phone line, and I can't find any phone numbers for the IV Unit in London. Has anyone else had any luck finding out their case number from the embassy? Or any other places I could try to move the process along? Thanks very much in advance!

The embassy has no record of you yet as the case is going to now be processed by NVC and then, when its reafy for an interview, they will send it to the embassy. Keep calling the nvc it will take you a few tries as there will be a recording stating all reps are busy, just hang up and redial until you get a ring and then the recording. That ring is your cue that u got through. Hope it helps!!

Thanks for your advice! I did call the NVC and got through after a few tries (I called right at 7am when they open) I was on hold for about 20 minutes, but when I got through, I explained the situation and she managed to find my wife's case number based on her name and date of birth. So we've booked the medical now and are moving forward. Thanks for your advice! David
