Yikes, I'm sorry OP but I will put money on problems in your next relationship too. With out even reading anything in this thread it's pretty common Asians have a bit of a dowry system, it doesn't totally exist anymore but in ways it still does. Also the bar girl thing is a red flag, there may be some who disagree, but with all the girls available in the world, you picked a prostitute to try and marry? I personally think there is a lot more to the story, I also would caution that you are trying to fix a mistake by doing things exactly the same way you did things that got you into the first mistake. There are many beautiful, kind, caring girls in the Philippines, but all women are crazy in every country all over the world so you have to be aware of that going into it. I think you are also better of meeting a girl in the mall or something rather than online, the girls online more often have hidden agendas.

My x now sits in a Philippines prison serving a 2 year sentence for the crime of Estafa. I am tired of you people blaming me and making all these negative comments regarding my this and my that. She not only was a shitty person but she committed a crime. I will visit her in prison when I arrive in November. Justice served regardless of your negative comments!

Why would you want to visit an ex in prison? Just move on!

Let me tell you a little bit about the Phillipines. It is a third world country where money talks. Your lawyer is just entertaining you for money, just like your ex. There is no real justice system in the Philippines. Justice comes to those with money, and your lawyer knows this. Your ex is poor and your lawyer knows she would not be making money off her, so she will milk you for as much as she possibly can until you:

A. Give up

B. Drain your bank account and can no longer pay for her "services."

This will be the real scenario after all your money went to your lawyer in Manila. Your ex attempts to get on a plane and they stop her. Minutes later, she calls her new fiance to simply wire her 5000P (about $110 USD) to pay off security, and off she'll go to America.

Don't believe me? I'll tell you a personal story that happened just this year. My wife and I visited the Philippines in March. She was using her AP to return home. Security stopped her and looked at her card and her marriage certificate. They "acted" like they never saw a EAD/AP combo card. They told her "We are sorry, but we don't know if this card is legitimately an advanced parole paper. But if you were to pay a "travel fee," we can let you pass." Basically this travel fee was a $50.00 USD bribe.

Was this wrong? Could I have made an issue of it, knowing it was basically a bribe? Maybe call the local police? Sure. But it [paying the bribe] was far less expensive than missing our flight and risking my wife not leaving the Philippines.

So my thoughts to you would be, save your money, she isn't worth the hassle. Is she a bad person getting away with $500.00 of your money? Yes. So why invest more in her? You'll only lose more money you do not have on a person who could care less. Save the money you would spend on that lawyer for your new love. She is most likely more deserving and cares about your well being.

Was this at NAIA?
