My two-year conditional green card expires later this month.

Our family is planning a trip back to China for CNY in Feb 2016.

What happens if by chance I do not have my appointment and new green card before this trip comes?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks!!!!

Once you file for removing of conditions, you will receive your NOA1, of which it will say you have a one year extension, while the process your case You will need your expired greencard, passport and your extension letter to come back into the country.

What KimberlyAhmed says is well stated and very true. However the other aspect you need to consider is passport control when leaving China.

Both the Airline and passport control in China will ensure that you have the correct documentation to enter the US. Be prepared to provide that documentation not only when entering the US but also when leaving China.
