Hi everyone, I haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all is well. I heard interviews still being given despite the holidays which is good. I hate for things to slow down for us.

for those who are getting their Visas, is there a fee for the visa? if yes, how much?

Hi everyone!

Alhamduillah my husband made it to the states on Tuesday :). From the day his visa was issued on ceac until he actually got his visa was 8 days. It was issued dec 13 and he got it dec 20. The only other fee we paid was actually for his green card which was $165. You pay it online. You can do it before or after he arrives to the u.s.

If anyone needs any help please let me know. I will help with whatever I can

have you called NVC? if not, I would suggest you call them. They operate from 7am to Midnight EST time from Monday to Friday. since your case is still at NVC, they might be abe to give you some info.

My case took it a week for it to go to Egypt from NVC but 4 months from Egypt to Algeria. US embassy in Algeria received my files (physical and electronic) by 11/19/2015. Since then I have been waiting for interview. I emailed the embassy last week and surprisingly replied to me and told me that they have my case and that I need to wait until they give me an appointment.

My case was completed august 20, 2014 and I waited about a year and 3 months until i got an interview.

I thought the case would traumatically transfer to Algeria based on this note:

"The Department of State has designated the U.S. Embassy in Algiers as the primary processing post for all Yemeni cases that have not already been accepted for transfer at another U.S. post. Therefore, there is no reason to request that a Yemeni case be transferred to Algiers. The National Visa Center (NVC) is scheduling Yemeni cases in Algiers in the order the cases were received, starting with approved petitions ready for processing in 2010. That means that petitions that were approved more recently may need to wait several months for an appointment. The NVC will notify applicants when their case is ready for scheduling in Algiers."

I guess it is better to double check regardless.

Hope_14, how long did it take for the embassy to email you the interview latter from the date they got your physical and electronic files. The embassy got all of my files by 11/19/2015. I just like to estimate. I know not all cases are the same but I would like to know:)

I requested the transfer in august 25th. I was able to confirm my electronic and physical file were both in algeria on October 27th. We got an email nov 12 that he has an appointment for nov 29th.

our case was different because it was completed when the u.s. embassy in Yemen was still open. InshaAllah it won't take a year for you to get an interview. Email the embassy and call NVC and speak to supervisor.
