Incorrect Entry Date on Letter for Form I-751

Hi all,

I received a letter from our friends at the Department of Homeland Security, USCIS.

The letter is a reminder to file Form I-751 within 90 days of the second anniversary on which I entered the united states as a Conditional Permanent Resident. Now for the past month and a bit I have been scurrying around gathering documents to send along side Form I-751, until today I saw that the date they had listed was 07/08/2013.The problem is I did not enter the USA with my K-1 Visa till October of 2013. If anything the date they have is a year prior to when I received my Green Card. There is no number on the letter. What would be the best way to clear this up?

What is the date of issuance of tour GC? They put 2012 instead of 2013 which required us to go the I-90 route. If the GC has the wrong "Resident Since" date that may triggered your letter. Just a thought.

I didn't even notice that. My Green Card has 07-08-13 as the date of residency. How the hell did i not notice any of this

Sounds like you should consider making an InfoPass appointment nowish and get this resolved !

Same thing happened to us. We were so happy to get it that we never really checked it for the details other than my wife's name. About 9 months later I had to make copies of it for her school and noticed it. Make an InfoPass appointment, do I-90 (won't cost you since it's USCIS mistake). Took us 9 months to get replacement GC. Make sure to ask for a stamp based on current I-90 processing times. Our first was for 6 months and second time we went we were told we should have gotten a year stamp!

I have made an appointment through Infopass although having to drive to the other side of the state to get an appointment in less than 2 weeks sucks. Do I just take a completed I-90 with me?

What's the date stamp on your visa state? Our POE officer stamped my husband's with the wrong date, but it's nowhere near as off as yours.

Not really, you have mail in the I-90. The officer gave us a piece of paper with a Phoenix, Az. address. I had the I-90 filled out and brought it along too. The only place we could find with an open InfoPass appointment was about 3 hours one way but, since we were going out of the country we had no choice. I would bring everything received from USCIS, I-797, Interview letter, Biometrics, Welcome to U.S.A. etc. The officer did look at this stuff too. The officer somewhat perplexed initially but got it figured out.
