Contacting the NVC

Hey guys,

So my fiance and I received our NOA2 on April 2nd....and still haven't heard anything from the NVC. I've read on here that we can also try contacting the NVC for our date and case number by telephone, but it seems the line is always busy.

I read further into it that this seems to be common with the NVC, and that it's easier to contact them at night closer to midnight. Now, I feel like I already know the answer but....

My fiance has a job that requires him to get up very early for work, so staying up past 8pm is not something that he can really do Monday-Friday. Me on the other hand, am more flexible with those hours since I work part time and don't start before 10:30 am EST. I know typically it's the petitioner who should be making the phone call, but am I allowed to call the NVC and ask for the case number?

We're (especially me) are just getting worried at this point that we haven't heard anything from the NVC via email/mail in nearly a month and are eager to continue with the process

Any word of advice would be appreciated!

Yes, you can call. I am the beneficiary and I made all the calls to NVC with no problem. You need your USCIS receipt number, your full name and the petitioner's full name, your date of birth, the petitioner's email address and his phone number (as listed in the I129F).

I had success calling on Friday morning (USA Pacific Coast time). Whenever you try you may have to redial somewhere around 10-20 times, but I wouldn't try more than that. It's worth the trouble to get your case number.

The beneficiary can also call. Try as many times as you can til you get thru. It can be really hard but you just gotta keep dialing. the waiting it's usually 30 min so don't call if you're short on time. Good luck!

Your case number is what you use to book your interview with the Consulate, I believe
