Just so I'm clear, NVC confirmed they received your case. Did they explicitly say that it was in the system? or that the case was received by them. Putting the case information in the system means generating an invoice/case number. I don't know how they can confirm it was in the system if there was no available case number.

I couldn't understand either because she told me that they received my case on the 16 which I already know. And she said that my case is in the system. And when I ask her to give me my case number and invoice number she said we will send you a letter that have everything. So I was confused and I just told her okay

I would certainly try calling again tomorrow and speaking with another customer service rep. You may have better luck with a different rep. Like someone mentioned earlier, try calling after 9pm if that is feasible for you.

I might try and call tomorrow just to find out if my case is in the system as yet or not.

Hello all,

Quick update from my end. I called NVC just now and I was told that our case has not being put on the system yet and she told me to call after four weeks. I also asked how long will it take to have a case closedown after receiving the documents and she replied by saying they do not have a time frame which I found really not professional. I even gave her an example by saying what if every document is provided which she replied the same stuff. Anyway, I won't be calling until beginning of May as that is when I think they should generate a case number for us. Good luck to all and I can not wait until this misery is over but I am thankful for what God has done for us.

I usually call only if my case is outside normal time frame. It was received on april 21st so I will not call them untill end of may. My experience with calling was that they will tell you same thing which all of you already know. I do not like to waste NVC time because someone who has more problems with their cases can use those lines. Few members here are so awesome because they always inform forum when any updates.

"We finally got our case number and were able to fill the DS-261. It now shows "Complete"

There is a "PAY NOW" button for both the IV and the AOS fee. It takes me to a next page where I can check a box for the IV fee, but once I click on the "PAY SELECTED FEES" button, the total amount resets and nothing happens.

Does that mean I have to wait a while after filling the DS-261? Would calling them speed things up a little?

This guy was approved on April 1 2015 n his case was received at NVC on April 16 ... Same as ours....He got case number n IIN today... His category is IR1... I think tomorrow or by Monday we should get ours on phone...
Guys try tomorrow n may be we get some luck...

Hey all, just finished talking with a nice lady in NVC. She told me that my case was received 04/21 and that I need to wait 35 days to get instructions. They did not assign a case number yet. Will keep you updated if I get more news. I will probably call them again next Friday.

Guysss just got my Case Number....and IIN over phone...The lady on phone told that they entered the info this afternoon....I asked can i send my DS-261 right now and add my email address to my case but she told me that she cannot do right now coz they added all the info this afternoon n probably advised me to call next week in the middle so that i can give them the information ....But i cant log in my account right now as the system is not allowing me.... Will try after some time or tomorrow....

Congrats Dew Drops!! another milestone reached. I was not successful in reaching someone when I tried calling. Friday's are generally busier for me at work. I'll have to try late tonight to see if I have a case number or else I won't find out until Monday. Will update everyone when I do.
