Please HELP: Can I use a copy of my first Barcoded Checklist cover sheet to send the corrected AOS? As NVC checklist email is delaying? Will that work if I know the exact mistake? Or I have to wait for their e-mail?

I suggest to wait for the checklist email and find out what exactly NVC is looking for. Then, you can respond.

Just paid our IV fee last night, is the wait usually a week before we can start DS-260?

I don't know the more recent time frames though I paid the IV fee the morning of February 4th and we completed the DS-260 the night of February 5th.

Yooohooo received a case complete email today :dancing: finally after a week! Was told by rep that case was completed on April 16. (Checklist scan date march 31st)

Now waiting on the interview date :(... any idea how long do they take to schedule one :clock:

This process is really really annoying!!! it took so long that my case even changed from CR1 to IR1

Congratulations!

The Canadians are having a field day right now with interviews. Not sure how the scheduling works. Some say they don't schedule till month end or start of month but people have been getting dates through the month.

Maybe it is done country by country (Canada comes up un the alphabet). In which case you are not far away. And we are at the bottom end!

Seriously, this is something no one seems to know for sure. I am eagerly waiting as well.

Good luck.

Just paid our IV fee last night, is the wait usually a week before we can start DS-260?

We paid our IV fees around 10 am Tuesday.... and the DS 260's were open for all three of us last night when I check (around 8:30 pm)

Good luck!! Take your time going through it!!

Hi all

I am little confused about the case complete date. Which one should we consider the CC date- the day NVC rep informed that the review is completed OR the day we received the case complete email.

I was told by the rep that the case was completed on April 16 and I received the email today April 23.

Trying to predict when I should be receiving the interview date.

From what I've read, the only really consistent thing NVC does is send the CC email exactly 7 days after the Case is completed. So I would think the 04/16 is the CC date.

Congrats :)

One simple mistake on AOS I-864EZ: Item 19. Year 2014 income must match the total (gross) income on your 2014 Federal income tax return.

Question: can it be fixed over the phone? Ask for supervisors review? Correct it, reprint it and mail it?

PLEASE! I almost fainted as I was expecting CC today

Your husband needs to file as Married filing separately and write 'NRA' for your SSN on the form 1040. During interview, the consulate might ask for this tax return and it's a red flag if your husband filed as single even though he's married.

Look here under 'Extra: Tax information' at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Married filing jointly will increase most folks tax rate, the correct thing to do is to consult your tax consultant on the optimal filing strategy and file a W7 from with your return ( or amended return) this will generate a tax id number and allow the IRS to properly process your return with no SSN. The IRS has a listing for multiple agents that can file the w7 including agents outside of the country.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

sorry to hear that you got a checklist...Unfortunately, you have to correct it, reprint it, sign it and mail it again.

Don't worry...

We finally got our case number and were able to fill the DS-261. It now shows "Complete"

There is a "PAY NOW" button for both the IV and the AOS fee. It takes me to a next page where I can check a box for the IV fee, but once I click on the "PAY SELECTED FEES" button, the total amount resets and nothing happens.

Does that mean I have to wait a while after filling the DS-261? Would calling them speed things up a little?

For the AOS package, we will be using the IRS transcripts for proof of income.

I just want to make sure the income value we enter for each field should be the one under "TOTAL INCOME" on the first page of the transcript.

Can someone confirm that?

seems there's hope. Cases are being closed within 30days. My brother got his case closed at NVC yesterday (after a checklist like mine). We both sent the documents the same time. Hoping for a good news from NVC next few days

I received a CHECKLIST email from NVC for PCC. By mistake I've submitted PCC from city commissioner's office instead of the one from regional PP Office. When I called NVC they claim my Case if complete and no further documents are needed. They are just waiting for PD to issue interview appointment. When I mentioned about CHECKLIST email asking for PCC they claim it is a document that I need to present during interview and this is something specially required for Indian Bombay US Consulate interviews in particular. Is this true? Anyone out there with a similar experience? Please help. As per NVC Process wiki on VJ my case seems to be really complete[AOS fee status changing from PAID to N/A]. Please help. Thanks.
