Rejection Notice - Wrong Filing Fee

Hey everyone,

I really need your help. I received a form I-797C, rejection notice. It says that the check amount I submitted was incorrect - I concurrently filed my I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-845.

I think I went wrong by not including a filing fee for I-765 because someone told me that there was no fee when filing this concurrently. Can someone verify these amounts with me?

I-130: $420

I-485: $1,070

I-765: $465

I-845: no fee

Thank you SO much

I submitted 2 checks. Should I combine the fee's into one check?

Hah, just talked to a lawyer and she thinks the USCIS did not see my two checks ... and one check came back unopened in its envelope. I am livid that they could've made this sort of mistake.

I will be resubmitting the form but sending it back with 2 checks in one envelope stapled to a sheet of paper on the front of the application. What a nightmare

Why were the checks 'in an envelope?'

I put the I-130 check hooked right on top of the I-130; and the I-485 check hooked right on top of the I-485.

And, as I understand it, if they perceive that one part of your application is wrong (in this case they didn't see the second check), then they just reject the entire packet of forms.

Honestly, I thought they would be more secure in an envelope.

I like your idea of hooking them right on top of the I-130 and I-485. Thank you for the tip!

And thank you for that clarification. It is utter nonsense on their part. Shame on them for being lazy.

Thanks again for commenting, much appreciated!
