Hi everyone, so before I went to the interview with my husband I was looking for topics describing the interview, and now that I went and got approved :) I am going to type my own and I hope it can help your case if your marriage is truly bonafide.

I came to USA in a tourist visa, in my vacations from the law college from Brazil to visit my boyfriend's family and house for the first time after he visited mine, he proposed, we applied I-130,I-485 etc.

Interview was the first interview pretty much at the morning at the LA office:

Arrived way earlier to make sure we would be there in time, the building only opens 7 am, we got transferred to another line and got in the building.

Security guards were EXTREMELY kind and friendly, cellphones were authorized but turned off all the time, no drama like 90% of people insist in tell everyone that there would be drama about cellphones, and no rudeness either.

We waited and got called in (the interviews are done inside at separate desks, not at the reception place with the glass windows) me and my husband sit down, we greet the wonderful kind Officer which was a friendly probably in her 40-50 years old kinda mexican looking lady.

I believe they reviewed our case before and thought it to be very good, me and my husband were never married before and had tons of documents proving bonafide marriage submitted with the forms, that's prob why she had a very nice and helpfull attitude. She was awesome to be honest and made us feel comfortable.

Swore us in and first asked questions to me like - Where do you live now? Where you used to live? What is your date of birth? And same thing to my husband after. Then -What type of visa you had? And I said tourist, came in my law college vacations, she typed it in a yellow note something like that.

- When you first met? How did you meet? ( around 7 questions like that regarding our relationship)

Then me and my husband were explaining both of us to her everything and facts while she was smiling and saying yes, uhum, nice, oh sweet

Then she asked for the docs I had, I gave her a pile of new docs, she didn't looked into it more than 2 secs, asked my passport and my husband's and marriage certificate/birth certificate to make copies...came back smiling as she always was and gave me my approval letter :) told me the green card will come in the mail in around 90 days and to remove conditions after, also told me to continue my law career out here.

Everything took 5 minutes.

I believe is because me and my husband are young and very loving and we do have a real marriage and we are honest people and I believe the officers are trained to see that in people, I did the process on my own with no help of lawyer. It was smooth and wonderfull

I wish luck to all of you out there with a TRULY BONAFIDE marriage :) The officers know who is trustworth and who is fake

So that's all folks :) my wonderfull blessed experience

Hey there! I-130 I-485 < principal forms

I-131 I-765 < to travel and the second one, to be able to work while case is pending, both free when submitted with I-485, you better off filling all together and sending all the forms, if your husband is a US citizen,

That is the normal procedure tho, I am not sure for you cause you overstayed the visa, so try speaking with a lawyer or someone that knows about overystay, to make sure there is no more forms you need to send or documents

Don't forget to send a copy of your marriage certificate, copy of brith certificates for both you and your husband, with translation if is not in english, it needs to be a certified translation that USCIS will approve, I did mines at an LA office

also any copy of joint asses/lease agreement/joint memberships/OINT BANK ACCOUNT/credit cards, all you have with both names, copy of insurance with both names, etc etc, and pictures!

Good luck
