Denied at intetview based on filing single when married ?

Ok so this question was asked in another thread and I want to know has there ever been anyone that filed single and was denied at the interivew ?

Just to get all the back and forth out the way first . Yes everyone knows you need to file either MFS MFJ OR HOH but someone stated that a few people they know got through their interviews with no issues so just wondering do anyone on this site knows of anyone that got denied based on this filing ?

By no means am I suggesting Someone to TRY their luck or suggesting to just "see what happen"

Just want to know if anyone knew someone .

If you are a US Citizen you are required to file Taxes in the US wherever you. Does that help

ok, so for an I-134, affadavit of support,

shown on interview day,

for a K-1 visa chaser -

if the petitioner shows last year tax filing as 'married' anything - well there needs to be a divorce decree issued prior to the petition being filed.

back at post #1, when you write 'filed single' - after reading yer other posts, now I assuming:

1. married couple

2. I-864 in play

3. uscitizen petitioner is the one filing the tax return.

as to the different tax filing types , and how they affect all on an IV Interview on Appointment Day - there is not one hard and fast rule.

Scant on other evidence of the 6 types of bonafide marriage evidence from the I-130? MFJ for 2 years o tax data helps, on interview day at the IV Unit. I say tell folk to sideload at NVC, instead.

It really is the totality of the casefile, not just one singular thing. You're asking about 1 singular thing, the tax filing status of the USCitizen Petitioner.

All of this is based on what I've gisted here at VJ for 5 years. I'm a gister, recognize patterns, and operate like a Mentat when I'm reading. So, take it with a grain of salt - that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary greatly ! Wash in cold water only, steam until pink, etc etc [add your own favorite disclaimer here]

Yes totally understand and get that part . But the question was have VJ or anyone on Vj heard of a case being denied based on a spouse filing single at the intetview ?

The person and I know what should be filed . Totally get that part but was wondering if there EVER was a case where someone was denied . Based on Google I just read of one case that they had no issue at the interview and then someone just wrote that a couple of their friends had no issue at the interview filing single .. So this was just a question has anyone heard of such a case where someone was denied at interview or is it just speculation

Hmm I dont know how else to explain it so I'll just leave it alone . It was just a question has anyone had a personal experience here on vj that someone got denied based on filing single. That's all . Nothing more nothing less . If there wasn't any then ok and if there was the person just wanted the details but it's ok it doesn't have to be answered lol

Has anyone been denied on that one bit alone, doubtful. In a high fraud consulate it would be a factor in building as case of no bona fide relationship. Such a only a single trip, no evidence of relationship other than chats, emails, facebook and the USC filing taxes a single.

Yea think that's the answer Darnell was stating as well. Think it's more about your evidence then what you filed . And if you don't have a strong enough case im guessing it will play a factor and if you do then it could play a factor or not . Cool just a thought now hopefully the person can sleep better haha !

I've never heard of it, but I think it's worth mentioning that I file single on my taxes, as my husband is not here yet. I had to research the information on Turbotax and verify with my lawyer that filing as a single person was correct, as my spouse resides in another country until his Visa is approved. *fingers crossed*
