I have published my petition to refund LEGAL immigration expenses if Obama unilaterally grants amnesty to illegal immigrants. Please make an account, sign my petition, and encourage others to do the same by sharing the link on your facebook page. It won't show up on the website until 150 people have signed, and we have a month to reach 100,000 signatures for an official response from Obama's administration.

Signed.

Good Luck with that.

At the very least I hope to attract attention to the plight of legal immigrants around the world. They should at least consider helping us before waving a wand and invalidating completely our sacrifices.

Everyone aboard. If amnesty counts for people who've been in the country illegally for years, why shouldn't the refund apply as widely as possible?

Nobody is talking about letting anyone immigrate for free. Per bi-partisan legislation that passed the senate long ago, those that are here illegally are to be afforded a path to immigrate. They would not only owe the fees associated with the process but a fine on top of that. So where that whole refund idea comes from, I don't know. Maybe you haven't been keeping up with the news properly?

Why not immigrate for free? Why wait in line at all? Why am I separated from my husband for over 2 years with this stupid process while others are living in the U.S. with their family and getting free visas with no work?

It's focking B....S.

Maybe it has to do with people having to apply for a visa and do the waiting game (time is worth something). There's also already a legal process to immigrate. We just seem to always go through this so called "amnesty" process every few decades? Do we do this again in 30 years? The blame is always on the US, but none of the blame goes to the family that broke the law. When US citizens/legal residents feel they have less rights than someone here illegal, you bet people will say something about it and why not. Is there no sympathy for this group of folks who follow the rules?

Yes, it is hard to keep up with the news in the US from the third world country where I'm waiting, jobless but united with my wife, for her immigrant visa. Internet is expensive and very very slow, and CNN doesn't cover everything.

But those that do it lawfully - and I know what I'm talking about since I went that way as did my wife - are so much better off than those that are here illegally. Being able to live and work here legally is worth something, too. That is the bit that seems to be forgotten all too often. Our spouses wait for that privilege maybe a year or so - yes some wait longer. Illegals wait for decades. I just don't get that rosy picture that is painted here of the life of an illegal alien. I see them slave out in the fields around here, I see their quarters - not an existence I want to have or would wish on my spouse.
