Fee for not having Heath care. When does it start????

I've been trying to find some information with my husband about the fee you get when you don't have health insurance. We know even if you don't have it for a few months you have to pay those months fee.

My question is, when does it start????? When I filled my AOS papers???? Once I get the green card??? Once I get my EAD and SSN????

We are confused about when the fee would start. Or if we still have some time. I still don't have a health insurance we are waiting on my EAD and getting a job for economic reasons.

The fee is 1% of your income and will be on your tax return for 2014 when you file. If you dont go through open enrollment (starts nov. 15th) for 2015 year, then you will be taxed 2% of your income on 2015 tax return

I was wondering about the date/time it starts counting once you are in the country not the percentage or open enrollment. But thanks for writing!!!!
