Thanks for your advice!

I called and asked for a service request last time right after they canceled my interview. 2 weeks later they sent me a letter saying I would receive another letter explaining why I got canceled. And then I got that letter "explaining" it was due to unforeseen circumstances that they had to reschedule me. Oh well...

But I get your point. The more we ask the more chances they would look into our cases. I'll just call a few more times like you suggested.

Thanks again and good luck to you!

Hi there, how did you I 751 and N 400 filing go? I live in NYC to and I'm going through a similar predicament as you.

Hi nitehero, it took me a total of 10 months to get my citizenship. I applied on Aug 20, 2014 and got my naturalization certificate on June 11, 2015.

My N-400 interview got canceled twice so I assume the application would've been even faster. It's been a while so I don't remember the timeline exactly. You can read my precious posts to get the idea.

I never got my I-751 approved. When they send you the N-400 interview letter I believe they already approved your I-751.

Which process are you going through now?

Best of luck to you!

I am still waiting to get my I-751 approved, been waiting since April 2015 and will be eligible to file for citizenship this April. I think I'll do what you did and file the N 400 and see how things turn out. I might also reach out to my congressman, that always seems to help also.

Thanks for sharing and I'll keep you updated on how things go

Congratulations, coffeesnowman!

*** Thread is moved from US Citizenship main forum to the Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi everybody...for those who waited more than a year for ROC and/or had pending ROC while applying for naturalization, how did it go? Interview? Updates regarding ROC or N400? Wait time? thanks all

Hi Lampion, i filed for I-751 in January 2014 and never got any response until after I became a citizen in June 2015! Is your N-400 pending too?

Naturalization takes shorter and I assume it won't take longer than a year. Also, some USCIS offices work faster some slower depends on which state you're in. Mine's in New York and it should be one of the busiest? So if you haven't filed N-400 then I suggest go ahead and do it. Don't wait for I-751..If you already have filed for N-400 then no worries it shouldn't be long. Good luck!

thanks so much for your prompt reply. This is very frustrating but it kinda feels good to hear that somebody else is/was in a same situation, :), Filed ROC March 2015 in CSC, as I said have not received ANY updates. Its been pending exactly a year, and I am eligible to file N-400 which I'll do this coming week. I hope this will not take another year.
