Hello, we just received our NOA2 and were wondering how you get updates from this point onwards? Does myUSCIS continue to update or do you have to just keeping calling NVC to get more information? I know it's early days for us yet but I just feel a bit confused about what happens next.

Thank you in advance!

TSC sometimes updates the status to tell you when they've shipped it to NVC. CSC never updates it (the last update is just for the approval). I would wait about 2 weeks before calling NVC, since the wait time is usually around 40 minutes when you call them (and that's after dialing them a lot and getting a busy signal).

Alright thank you! That's cleared things up a bit :)

Yes, you will get something in the mail from NVC once they've received your application and assigned you a new case #.

I really appreciate your response and advice! It's given me some hope. It's still very discouraging to think how much of a set back this will cause but there's a relief in knowing there's something I can do. I'll keep you all posted. Best of luck to you all, especially those going through this particular bureaucratic nightmare. -Heather (bandi)

1) How many days till i receive an email response from nvc?

2) How many days till nvc receives my noa2 after question 1?

1. Around a month.

2. Who knows.

I recommend contacting USCIS and asking to resend your application to NVC.

I would highly recommend calling the NVC to get your case number starting about 12 days after your NOA2.....just make sure you call as late at night as possible since they are open until midnight EST. I called at 8:00 on a Friday night and got through the first time but was on hold for about 45 minutes. Our NOA2 was 10/27 and I called on 11/7....the NVC received our file on 11/6 and they had my case number when I called on 11/7. We were able to get started on forms, medical appt, etc with that case number. We did not receive the letter from the NVC until 11/20.....that would have been a wasted two weeks if I had not called! After all of the months of waiting what is the harm in waiting on hold for an hour if needed to get that case number early? Best of luck!

My fiance contacted his congresswoman this morning. USCIS, which created a service request two weeks ago to resend our case to NVC, is now claiming all wait times have doubled, thanks to the new executive order on immigration or whatever the your president is doing.

I emailed NVC Research three weeks ago and have yet to hear anything back, by the way.

Updates as they come ...

I just contacted my congresswomans office, filled out the privacy release / intake sheet. I hope it helps

I also called uscis , they said that my case was probably forwarded, and that the nvc didnt know that they had it. Hmm then the sir changes his story that my case is not in his system at all. Anyway i got a service ticket opened. My nvcresearch email was sent last Friday

It looks like you're ahead of me. I'll update you if i hear anything..

Your phone conversation pretty much sums up USCIS perfectly: they don't know what the heck is going on and will just make up pretty much any story to tell you.
