Hello October Filers!

No good news for me yet but I went to my Infopass appointment this morning and got a stamp in my passport! At least I don't have to worry about losing my job :) the lady was very nice and also let me know my case is assigned to an officer, he just hasn't gotten to it yet lol good luck to all!

ROC (Divorce Waiver)- CSC

2/14/14- Filed for Divorce

2/28/14- Sent I751 Packet (divorce pending)

3/3/14- NOA1 (receipt date)

3/5/14- Check Cashed & NOA1 Received in the Mail

3/6/14- GC Expired

3/11/14- Received Biometrics Appt. Letter (for 3/28)

3/21/14- Biometrics (done 1 week early)

5/20/14- RFE received for divorce decree/more evidence

8/8/14- Submitted further evidence, no divorce decree yet

The letter stating you have an year extension isn't good enough for your job? I wasn't aware that we can get a stamp showing the extension. What is the process? Thank you.

I also had to get the I-551 stamp to be able to renew my driver's license and to travel abroad while my process is pending. I did not need the stamp for work because my work did not question anything. I scheduled an Infopass appointment but if you live near one of their offices you can try to just visit the office as well. I only took my expired Green Card, the letter extending my GC for another year, my unexpired passport and my travel itinerary. The officer initially said they don't usually give out these stamps but them I insisted and he went to check with another lady and after 30 minutes said he would give me the stamp. The stamp is an official proof of your current resident status and that the adjustment of status is pending but you are authorized to travel and to work for one year.

Unfortunately the extension letter says "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. During the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel. (This extension and authorization for employment and travel does not apply to you if your conditional resident status has been terminated." which means the letter they cannot verify your current status hence why this stamp will help you show proof of your current status in case you need. Some DMVs accept the letter and there's cases of people that went overseas while their process was still pending without any issues but I wasn't that lucky for this reason I decided to get my passport stamped.

My husband hasn't had any problems or questions from work and we are hoping that we hear something from USCIS before the end of the year, which is when we plan on traveling out of the country. Hello everyone, I noticed that the immigration timeline shows Vermont working on August 2014 applications. Also, I saw a couple of September 2014 applications approved out of Vermont on another page so it appears that Vermont is taking about 5 months from the date of biometrics. So April/May is looking good for Vermont folks who completed his or her biometric in October, November, or December....I hope :).

My GC expired on 3/6/2014 and my one year extension expired on 3/6/2015. That's why I needed to get a stamp, my job hasn't asked but just in case they do, I have valid proof of legal status.

what are the conditions to get i-551 stamp? because i want to go to travel out of the US on April. however, i still not got approval. i am wondering how to get i-551 stamp. Please advise!!
