Wow, a whole page of posters back slapping each other while not addressing one thing in the OP.

I was thinking the same thing..

The story is a bit over the top, congress sends a letter and is upset that the administration does not respond and it gets phrased as "hiding the children" when in reality its just congress and the administration playing political games with each other.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

it's not all of congress sending a letter. that's why it would be nice to know who exactly is getting the cold shoulder?

They spoke of Sen. Grassley in the clip. I checked his website and cannot find anything there that indicates that he has been told to eff off by the White House. Question for me is, how credible is this "Newsmax" piece when one is not able to verify the single verifiable claim made in the piece? To me, this seems to be the right wing crying wolf once more. Where are the facts?

So based on that seems a big to do about nothing, I'll agree. That said, it seems to me that if congress asks the white house for some information in this case, that the white house should simply hand it over and not make congress go to court to get it.

I don't disagree. But there is nothing factual presented that suggests in any way that the White House has taken the stance that Congress would have to go to court. All that's been said is that if the White House were to refuse to provide the information that a FOIA lawsuit might be the only remedy. That's all hypothetical.

this is untrue. and think about all the people who fall under 'state and local officials'.

I guess I shouldn't hope you'd bother to research this a little for yourself. Hell, you can't even capitalize letters. What are you, e e cummings?

The governor (Pence) says Indiana’s Department of Homeland Security was not informed about the kids before they were brought into the state. Pence says in his letter, he wants to know who the children are, when they were placed, where they are being placed and demanding real time information.

“There’s a broad range of issues that bear upon the obligations of the state of Indiana. We simply cannot be left in the dark when these children and vulnerable families are dispersed throughout the state of Indiana,” Pence told Network Indiana.

Tennessee Gov. Haslam wants to know more about the 760 young immigrants who have been relocated to his state by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement.

Haslam, a Republican, said he learned of the relocations through a posting on the HHS website and through media reports.

"Not only was our state not informed prior to any of the children being brought here, I still have not been contacted and have no information about these individuals or their sponsors other than what was posted on the HHS website and subsequently reported in the media," Haslam said in a July 25 letter to President Barack Obama.

In a report released last week, HHS said more than 30,000 immigrant children have been placed in homes nationwide since January. Alabama has received about 400 of the children, compared to Georgia's 1,154 and Florida's 3,347.

Gov. Dave Heineman (R-NE) said Sen. Mike Johanns (R-NE) had discovered and informed him someone in the federal government has secretly shipped 200 illegal immigrants into their state.

Heineman said, “No one has been notified — notified us of that, So I’ve been on the telephone the last couple of days. The Department of Homeland Security referred me to the secretary of Health and Human Services.”

“We want to know the names of those individuals, who their sponsor is, is their sponsor legal, what communities did you send them to?” he added. “Why are they conducting a secret operation essentially, transporting them all over the country and now, we learn, to Nebraska and the federal government won’t tell us what’s going on.”

Heineman added “They know who they are, where they’re sending them and again, they won’t tell us whether they’re arriving by bus, by plane, by car. I have no idea and I have no idea what communities they’re going to in our state,” he concluded “And then again, who’s going to foot the bill? And in all likelihood, that means legal taxpayers are going to pay for services for illegal individuals.”

Children are okay for a little while. As long as they pay attention and clean their room, and shut-down all Internet devices by 8-pm. Little banshies from across the border should be sent home via a giant water slide. It would have to be very long to reach to where they came from, but they would have fun on the way back to where they came from.
