Aren't school bake sales mostly for the parents anyways?

At least here, it's usually the parents that go in and buy a dozen cookies or a cake for dinner....

I wonder if this law affects field/ sports days too. I know my girl always begs for a dollar to buy a candy bar or icecream when there is one

Waccamaw Middle raises funds for Honor Flight

Students, parents and staff at Waccamaw Middle School raised $2,500 in three weeks to donate to Honor Flight. The money will pay for six veterans to go on the area's last Honor Flight on April 16. Students at Waccamaw Middle School in Pawleys Island, S.C. did something pretty cool this spring when they baked cupcakes and cookies to sell during lunchtime to raise money so six World War II veterans could go on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C..

The fundraising effort was a smashing success. The students raised $2,500 in just three weeks to help the six vets visit the various national memorials that venerate their sacrifices, according to the Georgetown The Washington Times.

Bake sales have been held for centuries in this country as a way to make money where there is no money for certain causes. .. Folks trying not to be a burden on the taxpayers of their home towns. So sad that an american tradition is discredited by home raised and imported liberals down in Washington .... Another case of the lefts control over everyone

Becuse both parties in Washington exploit non critical thinkers with absurd stunts. The repubs played to the tea party base by not funding a spending bill which accomplished nothing in reality and the Dem President exploited that stupidity by selectively shutting down high profile low cost venues which in turn made Ted Cruz and palin etc exploit more idiots by leading crash the barrier parties. The whole thing was theatre by both parties

Take politics out because when it comes to what LIB said and you're subsequent plus 1 agreement it doesn't matter. You have choose to shut down the government and subsequent monuments. Who did that? This is not political, its historical. No opinion is needed to answer.

No one view on anything can define a persons general stance.. If he argues with republicans sometimes and democrats others then he can be a moderate (or at least a free thinker or possibly a weirdo if he tends to extremes on both sides).

On the other more important topic:

The GS cookies in front of Albertsons bugs be to no end - though here we get the Kettle Korn hawkers almost every weekend - I don't even know what group they are selling for I just know I don't want carmel covered popcorn at five times the price of movie popcorn.. Now the gathering spot in front of Sportmans Warehouse for people selling puppies is a regular Saturday stop - When there are Beagle or Lab puppies it makes my weekend.
