Timeline: Medical date, Appointment Letter date, Interview date

Hi!

I thought we would have one topic where everybody shares these 3 dates in order for us to be able to easily estimate how long it will take for future applicants:

Medical date: 31 July 2014

Appointment letter date (the date when it was sent by the embassy and the date you received it at home):

Interview date:

Would be great to post in brackets after the date, how many days after the previous date (e.g. 14 days from Medical date to appointment letter received date)

I will post mine as soon as I'll have them. So far all I have is my medical.

It depends on the Embassy. The Romanian one is super fast, you can get an interview date right after you get the letter, provided your have all your documents ready.
I received my letter on April 23, 2014, and since I already had the affidavit and supporting documents, it took me a couple days to prepare the file and call for an interview date. I wasn't in a rush to leave the country though, so I scheduled it for May 27, but they could've given me an interview date on the week I called. You can look at Romanian K1 timelines to see these dates, but they won't mean much, because every applicant has a different story, some are more hurried than others.

what do you mean by Applicant's Readiness Form Submission date? Did you send the signed form to the Embassy by post? They dont require that anymore, I just emailed my DS-160 confirmation page and the passport biographical page, and I could call for a date right after.

Thanks for your reply anyway. I was wondering how it'd have been if I would have done it in Romania, probably much faster and cheaper. How much does the medical cost in Romania btw?

But unfortunately I live in London and here the procedure is different. You can't call to schedule the interview. You have to wait for them to schedule you. So much suspense!

I just had my medical and they said the embassy will have the results on Wednesday, 6 August. So let's see how soon I get my interview date cos I just can't wait!

Sorry for the late reply.

Medical was 440 Ron in Bucharest, but I didn't need any extra shots.

Everything was fast and smooth for me, I scheduled the medical for the day right before the interview so I wouldn't have to take two trips (I live in oradea).

I have my ticket for early September, but it's nice to have the visa ready ahead of time.

Medical on 31st July (I'd submitted my readiness form on the 17th)

Embassy has done something with my case on 5th August, so I'm guessing that's when they got my medical results.

Still no interview letter. I'm hoping maybe it'll come tomorrow, but probably next week.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the London embassy schedules your medical and sends you the date, or does the fiance schedule it? I haven't received the packet yet but would like to schedule it as soon as possible. If I can schedule the medical, do I have to wait until the case arrives at the London embassy? Can the medical be done before submitting the Applicant Readiness forms?

You ring up the doctors surgery and schedule an appointment, they'll forward the results to the embassy. I did my medical before the Readiness form.

Mine was updated over a week ago and still no letter

I'm hoping it'll come tomorrow. If it doesn't, I think I'll email them through the contact form and see if I can get my interview date that way. I can't bear the waiting any longer - other people seem to have had things move so much more quickly. Very frustrating.

Yes, mine was updated on 5 August as well. That muat have been when they got the medical results. But then it was updated again on 12 August so they must've sent the letter only then which seems like they took their sweet time with it.

I called the embassy this morning to ask if they can tell me when I was scheduled but they refused to tell me anything, just said I gotta wait for the letter.

Also called the DOS as advised in the guide on this forum but they said I need to call the NVC which I did but they also couldn't tell me anything. So seems like the letter is our only hope. Sure hope it'll arrive tomorrow since beefheart got it 2 days after the date on the letter.

Just got the letter now!!! Interview 21 August! So happy!!!

I actually broke the paper when I was opening the letter cos I was so excited. I hope it won't be a problem
