Why would you just wait instead of trying to get it tracked down? You can get the Ombudsman involved by filling out an online form, as stated in the link I posted above earlier. I suggest you be as proactive as you can, and not just sit around waiting.

Well yes, it will turn up someday. Someone will come across it in the wrong place and then go "Hey, what the heck is this doing here?" and then put it in the right place.

But how long will that be from now?

You want to get someone to go look for it right now, so it will be found in the next week or two or three. To do that you need to get someone working on the problem, be active.

Contact the Ombudsman ASAP, and then work on getting in touch with a congressperson.

you guys are right. but i've read the obudsman "rules" and it said that i needed to show them the evidence of contacting the USCIS...not sure how i can prove that. my fiance called them from a house phone so there's no call logs, i've sent out emails to nvc and CSC but got an automated reply instead................idk how i could prove them anything

If using the online DHS-7001 form, you can just say you have contacted USCIS previously (it's one of the questions).

Yes, you just have to confirm you did it. The Ombudsman exists for nonsense like this. Don't be afraid.

It is best to be patient. For all we know it could just still be "in transit" towards the NVC. Look at my time line for instance. When my petition arrived at the NVC I called them and they gave me a case number for when it arrived and I also got a letter from the NVC saying they forwarded it to the Consulate/Embassy. If you have not got a case number yet or if the NVC says they have not receieved it yet, it is probably simply just in transit. So do not worry. Everybody is on the same journey and we are all wishing to be with the one we love. Your time will come do not worry. Just think as each day passes, you are one day closer to it arriving to the NVC. Just be patient and good luck!

I think almost three months has shown a lot of patience. The time for patience is over and the time for action has arrived.

Why would they just sit and be patient when it has already been almost 3 months? Sometimes it can take longer for a petition to be sent to and reach the NVC, but not that long.

this pops up:

Your USC fiance should do it. Also, you cannot contact congresspeople, that is something the USC fiance needs to do.

You can't ask for help on anything because it is not your petition, it is your fiance's. Time for the USC to get cracking.
