Hi all,

I was getting ready to send my wife the papers needed for our baby girls CRBA and decided to look on the embassy website and there are no appointments available online. Can I call and schedule it? Or do I have to wait for them to open up more appointments? My wife will have her visa before my child has her passport at this rate....

You will either have to wait, or the USC parent has to contact them. I believe Cebu accepts walkins on any day of the week. If you need one now, it looks like you can just drop by there during their opening hours to file a CRBA.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

I have the same situation with trying to get an appointment for my son's CRBA. He is 4 years old already. The online system always shows all appointment times fully booked. I have e-mailed and asked in person, only to be told the only option is through the online appointment system. It only allows appointments to be scheduled within a 4 month period. The e-mail I received stated that they sometimes open appointments when someone cancels, and on the 4th Monday of each month. The only advice given, was check the site 2 or 3 times every day.

If Cebu will allow walk-ins, I will take my wife and son there to take care of this. If anybody can verify this, I would appreciate it if they can post it on here. My job will be moving me to S. Korea next month, and I would like to move my family there with me.

{Whistle} Everybody, look here is what American Service Center at U.S. Embassy proclaim on its U.S. Citizen Service page, also can be seen in CRBA page:

Starting August 1, 2014, all appointments for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and Adult Citizenship applications at U.S. Embassy Manila will be made through a mail-in appointment scheduling system in order to provide better service to our clients. The on-line appointment system will no longer be available. The new mail-in system will reduce the wait time for appointments and help you prepare for your citizenship appointment at the Embassy.

So, we are all back to grade-school days where all line up-to-please-our-teachers and Principal to places such as the caferta or going home. Guess no more first come, first serve walk-in appointment. This is it, mail-In then.

Remember this, pre-July 1st CRBA checklist is now outdated, and this is new revision page which I only found out yesterday. Glad I didn't buy airfare ticket. Whew!

I printed out new CRBA Checklist yesterday and this is shortcut to revised July 1st checklist here.

General things in VJ is Do-It-Yourself site which we all would help, giving advices, pointers and tips. I would like to think those law practitioners-for-paid and legal guide (the navigator-for-hired) out there: those who might like us not to perform DIY but letting them do all legal paperworks, pretending s/he know the best route for shortcut or else to apply jurisdiction, e.g. under the table, are merely fable and cannot stop us. This is information age we are living. WE all have same knot to tie, same kind of anxiety, same kind of sweat, of facing judgmental day whether CO grant our visa or not. If you do what we did you will achieve nothing less but pride in your accomplishment.

Question for you: will you be willing go through all navigating to learn and study trial and errors of others and then apply toward your pathway to get U.S. visa? Even this means making feedback or giving input from your candid observation.
