Wow. That's pretty good news if they let you do that!

Does anyone else know if we can do send our civil docs first and then pay the IV fees? I'm finding that a bit hard to digest. They keep contradicting themselves at the NVC.

Some did mention it in the May 2014 thread so you could check there. I just asked how I could speed up the process since I had been at it for a year now and that is what she told me.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't suggest it. First off, you'd be using the wrong cover sheet. Yes, it can be directed to the right department, but that's an extra step for NVC, and with any extra steps, things can get lost. Second, if NVC gets to your package before the IV bill is invoiced or paid, then it can cause delays. And since your original/certified copies of civil documents are inside, there may be a chance they can get lost, which can be an even longer delay for some folks if you had just waited in the first place for the IV bill to be invoiced and paid.

But, I'm not a lawyer, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

We are on same track... Today called to NVC they said will take 30 business days to review and proceed the next step.. hope will get very soon..

It looks like you are actually ahead of me if you are already in review...I'm glad for you but confused on why my journey is taking so long....

After almost 14 months at USCIS and NVC, we finally have CASE COMPLETE! And as it's my birthday, I have one more reason to celebrate!

I talked to Bruce (?), very nice guy, he told me they are still scheduling for July interviews and so there was a chance I will get one. Don't know if he just said this to be nice on my birthday, but let's hope he says the truth.

I paid the AOS fee on 5/12 and sent the IV package on 5/20 via email (payment cover sheet is not required). My IV package should be reviewed around 6/20. If I receive the IV fee by 6/12 (30 days) and the payment is processed by 6/18, I should be OK. If you are doing EP, that worth it a try.

I also submitted the expedite request on 6/2 due to the death of immediate family member, I am not sure when I can hear back from NVC expedite unit with a decision. Any idea?

Just caught up on all of the June posts, it's amazing how much can happen since I read last on Saturday!

Congratulations to all of the case completes, interviews, and visa approvals!!

I must say that this week's thread is 100 times more uplifting then what seemed like the abyss of May! It seems like the overtime seems to be having an effect on the processing of documents, which is a huge beacon of hope, even though I know I still have a week or 2 until (fingers crossed) case complete.

Good luck to all those waiting at all stages, and hopefully they unblock the poor people waiting for IV fees.

what to do when the case is on its way to the embassy or at the embassy and you need to update something?

my husband is going back to the US so his address is going to change and he's gonna start a new job.

e-mail them with the new address putting in your case number date of birth name etc for both of you. At least that is the way it's done for the Egyptian Embassy.

I couldn't agree more. This is quite a gamble specially when we have to include all of the originals with this packet. If they lose it, it is a huge issue and more delays.

I swear by the end of this I'm going to be a cat lady. I honestly think the only thing that has kept me partially sane is my cat and that is probably the most depressing thing I've said in a long time.

I don't know how expedite works but I had also requested and was denied. My theory on expedate is that it is 2 step process it seems. Either NVC can approve the request which I think is very fast (days) or they will partially approve and forward it to embassy to approve. In my case the embassy denied the request. It took almost a month for us but I have seen few folks get approved within days and hence why my theory.
