NVC Filers - June 2014

No, I mean the 3rd. It is a mystery :) I don't even understand why they bother answering a phone and give us information that we know is incorrect.

understand that most people believe that they are being 100% honest. VJ members know better but we are only a small speck at the NVC .

I knew this girl who filed papers for her ILLEGAL husband in the US. I was asking her all kinds of questions about where her file was being processed etc.... this girl had no idea.. NONE!!! she was a young , dumb 23 year old who had no clue. It made me sick. I don't understand how you can start a process and not know anything about it or even care to follow the progress. And not to know the simplest things like where the file even is.... OMG.... PUKE PUKE PUKE

so I guess what I'm trying to say is.... if she were to call, she would have no reason to not believe what they have to say....

And I'll buy the second round!!! The Kabana is right down the street and they have great curly fries! ;)

I was told you have to wait for an interview letter to do the medical. I'm pretty sure that's the case for most countries as well.

The police cert you DO NOT need a letter to get. We already got one for my husband, sent it in with the IV packet and everything. (just realized he'll have to get another one though, our three months will be up July 9) He can go ahead and get the police record now, it's good for 90 days even though NVC tells you it's only good for 30.

Call the embassy- they speak English!! You can pick to speak to someone in English, sometimes they still answer in Spanish but just start speaking English and they'll switch. :)

its a date then !! Does your husband speak any english?

I grew up in Florida, actually. Then I moved to New York for a guy and I got into Hofstra University on a scholarship. Both ended up being disasters, but I stuck it out and lived in New York for 3 years. I miss the directness of people. The midwest is sooooo passive aggressive and I'm told quite often that I'm very 'harsh' LOL

I finished college, didn't want to be in New York anymore (I wasn't in Brooklyn where I wanted to be and I wouldn't have been able to afford unless I worked 30 jobs and had 10 house mates). The Hudson Valley is GORGEOUS but the small town life is not my style. I didn't want to go back to Tampa, so I narrowed it down to Atlanta and Minneapolis. Minneapolis won because at the time the cost of living was great, rent was reasonable and the overall quality of life was better.

I do miss the east coast, though!

My wife is from Davenport Iowa, talk about small town nice.... Im from London, everything i say is harsh (apparently) ... i do find it a bit strange how nice and open they all are...

ME TOOOOOOOO and yes... you probably are the only other CR file. What a small world since we are both on VJ...

If we get interviews on the same day, I'll buy a round of shots for you and your hubby afterwards !!

Do you think our husbands can get thier medicals done while we wait for an interview date? I wonder how long the medical is good for?

The Doctor, lab and the radiology place are all right near each other. Pretty much right across the street from each other. If my husband could just make the appts I would feel like we are moving along here. He is on the edge of his seat ! Since he works on the farm, he can go whenever. He can get the police cert right before the interview since they said it doesn't have to be translated.

The instructions say you need the interview letter for the appt. I wonder if that is really true. Have you called the doctors to ask ? I would call except my spanish is only caveman talk... they would laugh and hang up..

For the doctors, I called and booked an appointment for my wife's medical. They asked for the interview letter.

The lady said that the US consulat requires them to look at it.

This is for Casablanca.

Other US embassies/consulats allow for early medical, but they also require a correspondance of some kind from NVC.

You know what would be AWESOME? If people completed the form so the spreadsheet could be up to date! I know there are people whose documents were scanned in past the 1st who have had CCs!

But I'm pretty sure people have dropped off and that's why they aren't updating.... oh wells, guess I'll stalk the CEAC site for my AOS fee to become N/A!

I am in similar stress and uncertainty as well. We were put into extended review at I-130 which took a long time, like never ending. You can't imagine how much I had to work on my case, talked talk to lawyers, considered sue options, wrote to USCIS every month, to ombudsman, asked one state senator to help but no reply than asked my community leaders to help than asked my local congressman who was thankfully was willing to help, even when that took a month, I even wrote to President obama and strangely my case was approved 2 days after that but I am thinking realistically it was my congressmen help that was crucial.

Now I am worried about the interview, it will destroy me if they put us again in additional processing. My wife is a doctor, she is from good and well to do family, both her parents and sibling has US visit visa. I am just hoping it goes well from here.

Wow, you waited longer than me and LucyBelle. NSC and TSC are definitely the worst !! I am so sorry you had to wait like that !!

I wrote letters everyday towards the end. I called the Senator's office like every other day. It wasn't until I sent an email to this one guy ( i forget his name now) and I was approved the same day. I don't think the Senator's office did anything. They just relayed the message that during security checks the process cannot be expedited BLAH BLAH BLAH. I kept getting the "wiat 60 days" garbage.. I totally feel your pain. But lucky me, We have to file a waiver at the NSC... So I'll be at the mercy of the NSC for 6-8 months unless they speed up that process. It depresses me to look at the processing times. (((SIGH)))

My in-laws documents were scanned on the 13th as well. Just got off the phone and was told 30 business days story. Mysteriously, they are currenlly working on documents scanned on 3rd of May. Really????

maybe they meant the 13th of May? I called yesterday was told aos and ds260 approved and my file scanned on the 13th is currently being reviewed but I guess we'll never really know LOL

 Hey hey lol I am 22 turning 23 next month. I always like to investigate, I literally had to stop myself from always tracking with USCIS because it was becoming addicting and I was getting depressed. Once it was approved and sent over to NVC, I did both calling and emailing to check what was happening, plus I asked my friends who had done the process too.

Talking about this, my cousin a guy got married he is 24...well his dumb "wife" decided to sneak in and go to the interview without even telling him. So most likely she didn't take the necessary paper work, well well they told her that he had to come. So my cousin goes right, they go on a mini vacation to a resort, then they go on the interview together and they asked them if they slept in the same room one said no and the other one said yes lmfao so obviously they didn't get APPROVED.

They were having some drama with each other hence why all of it ended up that way. MESSY MESSY MESSY. Plus my cousin lol is kind of dumb, I wonder who said yes and no to that question plus I am sure it was other factors that messed it up for them.

When they say 'currently being reviewed' did they mean it was currently with an officer? If so, you should call back today and find out if it's been approved.

Others have posted that once the officer opens the file and reviews the packet, it's approved/check listed that day.

Everything will be english but then he sneaks that in... he knows its wrong .. I guess he can't let it go  I am the only person who he speaks english with. I (L) his spanglish :luv:

Sometimes I wish I could wake up and all of a sudden be fluent in spanish... accent and all. (((SIGH))) then I could talk to his family without him around.
