Does voluntary work required EAD?

Hi everyone - just a really simple question - it's in the title! I'm thinking of doing some voluntary work to build up some solid experience whilst I wait for EAD when I move - is that legal/possible?

You can do voluntary work (before you get EAD) as long as it is not considered a paid employment

You are not permitted to work in a position that is typically a paid position.

I am thinking of doing some volunteer stuff too but I am still waiting for that EAD/AP card.

You can volunteer for anything that's typically a volunteer position like at a hospital.

You cannot volunteer with a potential future employer.

yes you can volunteer. volunteer work can at least lessen my longingness for the next step for my aos journey.

You can definitely volunteer. I have worked three days a week at an animal shelter since late February. Finally got my EAD today so hopefully an income will happen soon... Good luck! I would strongly recommend volunteering, it gives you a nice structure to your week (I quit my job in London in December pending my move) and kills time while you wait.
