You mean you want to put in a notice to quit, before getting the approved visa in your hand? On second read, you are only thinking about it. I guess thinking is OK. I have told my wife to wait (to submit the 1-mo notice) until she has the passport back in her hand (with visa).

Actually, I do intend to put in my notice so that I'm officially done just shortly after I get back from the Interview. They already know I intend to leave after the interview and I only truly need to give them 2 weeks formal /written notice. My house is currently up for sale and likely closing the deal later this week - the possession date will depend on the Interview as well. The intention is to leave for the US as quickly as possible after the interview and the buyer's possession of the home.

Don't worry, we've decided that it's definitely time to leave this city, and so even if for some unforeseen reason the fates throw us a twist and the Interview results in a denial, we'll just have to go to plan B and reside elsewhere in Canada, and my husband will have to return to this country. He already has his PR here.

Don't even think like that my friend. You WILL be approved, sooner or later. Just nudge soloenta for one more prayer the night before the interview. She seems to have friends in high places.

I never imagined a scenario in which my husband's visa would be denied, but on the day of his interview I still found myself sleepless in bed with heart racing, waiting for his message. As they say, it ain't over 'til it's over... but I think this whole nightmare has also conditioned us all to be a little edgy I'm sure everything will go wonderfully for you! Best of luck

Thanks! I know I'm jumping the gun a little, but I'm willing to take the risk. It's always good to have a back-up plan in place when taking risks, and fortunately we have one, as undesirable as it would be

I'm a US citizen filling for spouse CR1

Uscis approved my case early on february after 9 months of waiting and received file on late febuary, i got my nvc case# late on march and paid all fees early on april then on april 30th i had a checklist from NVC saying that my AOS was missing an answer, i filled a new AOS same day and shipped it next morning, it took NVC one week to put it in system just as recieved on may 7th, then i found out about a another checklist on may 2nd saying that NVC needs original documents(marriage certf, birth certf, passport copy) even i sent all original copies to USCIS, USCIS told me that i have to file an app to request original marriage certf back and it would take up to 5 month, then i requested from my father to send me all documents via DHL, i Got all requested documents within 7 days and i shipped them right away to NVC, after another week NVC put documents in system on may 19th, I'm still waiting hopefully there will be some good news before closing appointments for july.

She received her SSN in mail yesterday.. This means that the option to receive SSN at the time of DS-260 does work. I wonder why some people reported, they didnt get SSN even though they opted for it.

Just like everything else in government is sometimey. Like the G1145 some get a text and email some don't. Some get SSN within weeks, some days. Some been waiting months. So they say they didn;t get it because they didn't get it. You got blessed.

Some say it depends on where you POE some CBP's are better at kicking that off. Who knows.
