Apparently you don't have to be accurate either... I just opened my email and this is the NVC response I received from an email I sent on May 2nd. The good news is that it isn't taking 30 days for them to respond But keep in mind... My husband is from Costa Rica and my name is Jennifer... so see below.... It makes me so nervous !!

That's soo crazy and scary. I can't believe it, but if I were you I wouldn't post this info on a public forum, especially with important information. I would also contact NVC and let them know they before they send emails to actually confirm that they are being sent to the right person....unless they got hacked

DON @ NVC (laughing) told me to disregard the email. I asked about my info being forwarded to someone else because someone can sign in and look at my DS260 an all m husbands info is there.

He said he can guarantee that did not happen. Also informed me that my mail was not reviewed yet but someone reviewed my file again today. I asked if that was them sending this stupid response and he said no. Anyway, I picked his brain a little about the CMR and DR cover sheets.

Initial AOS packages go to the CMR, all other packages go to the DR. They are separated and they do open mail by the date it was scanned in. I asked how many days of mail do they process in a day. Of course he had no idea. Of again I got the 30 day yadda yadda yadda #######.

Maybe somebody else can ask the same questions to see if there is truth in what he said..

OMG! Thanks!!! I knew I read that somewhere! I know I'm still angry, but that right there just made me laugh sooooooo hard!!! Thank you...

Good news is they have it under supervisory review now after calling and explaining. Even the second "friendlier" operator I spoke with was like "Really?!?! I cannot believe this. I am so sorry!"

My case is in process of termination. What does that mean?! I see that one in here every month about 10 times and it drives me bananas!

Anyway, I'm sitting in the clinic (I'm in a clinical trial for a new migraine medication) and the nurse just asked me what book I was reading (I'm on my tablet), I told her Visa Journey. It's a dramedy :-D

You mean 10 times per week?:lol:

And witty reply to the nurse!! :D

PBJ sandwich for better mood nomnomnom :ot::)

Grilled cheese here :o

Don't know how to say this, I just got an e-mail that my case has been completed. Yayy, I'm on my toes

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: RID2012XXXXXX filed by FXXXXX SXXXXXX on behalf of NXXXXXX FXXXXX.

:wow:

I got checklist but... It is false right?

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________
We received your Immigrant Visa Application; however, we have not received an Affidavit of Support
form. You must submit an Affidavit of Support form before we can complete your case.
Please go to our website immigrantvisas.state.gov for instructions on how to obtain, complete, and
submit an Affidavit of Support form.
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this
letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
address provided.

What's that mean? They accepted IV packet?

Looks like!

yay!! :dancing:

I think I'm going a little crazy, but my DS-261 and AOS bill were available before we received the notifications. My IV fee has a "pay now" option, but no fee available (it was showing N/A before the AOS fee became available).

Anyone had any luck calling NVC to have the fee enabled or is it just the usual waiting game?

once the DS261 is accepted, you'll get your IV fee made available.

called NVC...on hold for 35mins and a very nice guy answered (forgot name). He said they got my AOS form on 5/20/14....no IV fee invoiced still and he said it will become available after AOS has been reviewed....which is again 30days! sooo waiting :clock: come on NVC!! take I want to give you my money!! :crying:

As per my comment above, the IV is invoiced based on the DS261 acceptance. It's also in clear in Saylin's wiki :luv:

Dammit!!! Got Checklisted!!! :crying:

My checklist specifically stated FINGERPRINT checks for all states. Don't risk it with NVC. Go for fingerprints.

Hi Sukie,

We only provided a Western Australian Police Certificate. I have never even heard of a Fingerprint Check.

Is this what you were checklisted for??

Thanks!

I have removed all of the personally identifying information from the misdirected mail sent by NVC. As their misdirecting of this mail is a serious breach of security - and not the first one - I am leaving the general information visible but no names, numbers or anything else that can be used to identify the individuals or the case. If this turns out to be insufficient I can certainly remove the whole thing.

Please do return the original to the sender with the statement that it was sent to you in an envelope addressed to you and that you did not receive the proper contents of the envelope that was addressed to you. My guess is it went to the individual who should have received this notification.

As an aside, years ago when I was going through this process, I received my notification of receipt of my AOS petition in an envelope addressed to me, but in that same envelope was another notification of receipt of a petition addressed to someone totally different. I wasn't a member of Visa Journey then but what I did instead of sending it back to the sender is I re-addressed it to the original recipient and told them it had been included in my envelope with my notice as well, then mailed it directly to them. In retrospect, I should probably have returned it to USCIS but figured that might take a lot of time for them to get around to re-mailing it and knowing how important it was to me to get this response, I didn't want them to have to wait any longer than necessary.

So, these types of mistakes happen far more often than is comfortable.

Also, when you call the 1-800 number and get conflicting information, please remember that you are not talking with an actual immigration officer unless your call has been forwarded by the person answering the phone. The person answering the phone is a low paid, call center employee who has been given a script with answers to the most common questions and the advice to try and fend off all but the most critical calls with a variety of scripted 'excuses'. Please do not trust the information that is given to you by the ' misinformation' line. Check it out with our far more knowledgeable members here first before acting on it.

If you're not sending in tax transcripts, you have to send the ENTIRE tax return package. Basically, whatever you sent to the IRS, you have to send to NVC.

Because my income has been foreign earned for the last three years, I do not actually submit W-2's or schedules with my tax return. I simply submitted my 2011 and 2012 Tax Transcripts and my 2013 1040 (do not have a transcript yet) with an explanation of why I do not have W-2's. I thought that would be enough as my income here should not technically matter because my Joint Sponsor more than meets the requirements. Could I be checklisted for this? I didn't submit my paystubs because I thought it was not necessary... :(

Thanks
