Montreal Hotel

Does anyone know of a good website to use for the cheapest/closest hotel to the Montreal consulate? Or have any suggestions on which hotels to stay at?

I do want cheap but I also don't want to stay in some nasty bedbug ridden hotel lol

Top right do a search for Montreal hotels..as this subject has been asked a lot.....kayak.com it search many sites at once.....and sometimes if you call direct, can get a better rate. Best of luck

Stayed at Best Western Hotel Europa on Rue Drummond.

BTW I've mentioned this before and will do again, take the bus vs a cab. Bus = $9 per day. Cab = $40 flat rate and takes the same amount of time. Most hotels are, at most, a block or two off the bus route.

I stayed in Travelodge. It was decent, reasonably priced & 5 minutes walk to consulate. Even during snow days, it was a easy walking.

I stayed at Lord Berri. Wasn't too bad. I think I paid around $80 per night. 15 minute walk, 4 minute drive.

Whatever you do, do not stay at the Hotel Des Arts. We just had a difficult time with them trying to cancel our reservation after reading reviews about them having bed bugs. They said they don't...then later on said that EVERY hotel in Montreal has bed bugs and if they say they don't, they are lying. Anyways, we canceled our reservation there and just paid more money to stay somewhere else (forget where) at the end of May, so we'll see.

Sheraton is close, its on Rene Lavesque and walking distance to the consulate. Nice hotel and I enjoyed the walk to and from the consulate. Cant comment on the cost, I paid through reward miles.

Actually a lot of hotels do have bed bugs, as they bugs are hard to kill and easily travel from hotel to hotel via peoples luggage. At the hospital I last worked at--the OR was closed down for cleaning as they were on a patient. Tehy are more common than u think

I always keep my stuff off the floor and look at recent reviews on trip advisor to see if a place has bed bugs at the time.

I stayed at the Travelodge, it was quite close & was nice. Small room but I was alone and it was only for one night. I can't tell you the exact price as it was a flight/hotel bundle but I know it was a good price. Probably about 5 or so minute walk to the consulate, all I remember was freezing my bum off. Close to a little mall which came in handy when I forgot my hairbrush...

If any of you have your interviews during the summer months, you can check out McGill New Residence Hall (~$90/night). It serves as a dorm for McGill students during the academic year but as a hotel in the summer. I lived there my first year, so I can vouch for it's cleanliness and they take care of it even more when it's a hotel. It's also a 15 minute walk to the consulate.

I stayed at Le Phillips Square. The consulate is right behind it. You can walk behind the hotel thru the parking lot and cut through the alley and are right there at the door of the consulate within 2 minutes. The room was huge and clean and the bed was super comfortable.The staff was fantastic. I think that I paid $130.00 for the night.
