This might have escaped your attention. From the USCIS itself:

Beginning in September 2014, the initial two-year grants of deferred action for early recipients of DACA from USCIS are due to expire under their own terms, and USCIS is actively preparing for the DACA renewal process so that eligible individuals can request and receive an extension of their deferred action without experiencing any lapse in their lawful presence or work authorization.

Thank goodness they won't experience any delays. :ranting:

I hope "actively preparing" doesn't mean creating a big backlog of K1 or CR1 visas while prioritising the DACA cases but I won't hold my breath after last time!

I wouldn't hold my breath, this year the Dems have mid-term elections to worry about. I expect to see major butt smooching and pandering from those that Obama and his infamous ObamaCare have left vunerable. I think that DACA renewals WILL get priority over people who started their applications legally and the Dems that are in tough re-election races will demand it from their leader since he screwed them with his agenda.

This is bad, bad news. Do a VJ search for DACA from two years ago when it started. Caused huge delays, especially at CSC. There's a post where one guy did some major in-depth research on this at the time. Created several spread sheets of timelines to show the delays being caused by DACA. I'm getting a serious headache just thinking about it.

Hi there, do you have a link for the information on the delays previously? Will it effect all petitions submitted prior to May at both TSC and CSC?

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

Here's a NYTimes story discussing the initial delays. I would imagine DACA renewals will cause similar backlogs to when DACA was initially implemented (that have yet to be resolved).

The article says they have to start submitting that stupid DACA ####### 4 months before it expires so that means in June a month from now; and that's going to kill any progress in processing time thanks to these illegals who should never be here in the first place.

This news is a downer and I'm pretty much losing hope right now and I'm a Dec 2013 filer.

Yep. Congress rejected this sort of DREAM act legislation many times. So the preznit just forced it through against the wishes of the American people. Who's gonna stop him. <_<

You guys are so selfish. You'll get your stupid visa eventually and you won't care anymore. Sorry you now have to wait for people that have been denied the privileged of a spousal visa up till now. You'd rather a chunk of the populous not be able to get a spousal visa than have to wait another few months MAYBE.

This one obviously doesn't know what DACA is.

It's not like it was any of their fault: they were brought here as children. Have some empathy.
