In my case the AOS fee was taken out of my account in 4 days (3/13 ~ 3/17). Of course there was a weekend in between. Although, the IV payment was taken out in 2 days. I have a feeling that although the process is online, NVC initiates the withdrawal of the funds from their end.

I will be very interested in the "cut-off" for 2013 tax data on the I-864. NVC received my AOS packet on April 10, but didn't scan it in until April 15. I'm pretty sure I'll have to come up with my 2013 return/transcript, but don't know whether I'll get a checklist for it, or whether my spouse will have to hand-carry a copy to her interview.

I filed a paper copy of my 2013 return, and the IRS won't even tell you where it is in process until 4 weeks AFTER you mailed it in. I tried to check on it today using "Where's My Refund", but when I chose the "paper" option, the screen told me I had to wait.

*IF* I have to mail a copy of my tax return (transcripts for paper files are estimated to take 8 weeks to come online), do I really have to write our case number on each page? My tax return is complicated - it's 80 pages long, and I have about 40 pages of 1099 data. The return is too big to staple together, so my only choice is to put a binder clip on the pages. Of course, my return has my name and Social Security Number on each page. Do you think I can get away with putting the case number on the 1040 pages, and then staple the 1099s together and put the case number on the first page of that?

Also - will the NVC just ask for my tax return, or will I have to fill out a brand new I-864 with 2011, 2012 and 2013 data and sign it?

Go to Staples and buy yourself one of those stamps that way it will be fast and you can use it for other things. Sounds like it would be worth it.

I know the feeling, I'm working on a coffee table and cut down part of my tree to make it just to keep busy and I'm already busy. I stayed up pretty much all night until 9 am working on it and slept for two hours. I feel so left behind as logical as that may sound, Feel that all those that can help will be leaving and we will be left by ourselves. Kind of a sinking feeling.

Most likely they will complete your case with a notation to bring an updated I-864 and a copy of the 2013 tax return or Tax Transcript to the interview. Some other VJ members mentioned that NVC made that note in their CC email.

Well, now you can officially hang out in this thread. For starters you should read the NVC Guide (referenced in the first post) and probably make a book mark to it. Get all your AOS and IV documents ready to be shipped out. Start counting the money that you will be needing to pay NVC in about a 4 to 6 weeks from now :)

You are looking at spending another 2 to 3 months @NVC. But things will start moving very rapidly here and for the most part how fast you can send them the documents they need, will decide when your case will be completed. So fasten your seat belts.... :)

Congratulations!! and welcome to the NVC thread

All what you need to know is in the first post of this thread and in the NVC wiki guide made by Saylin. Make sure you read them more than once and always go back to them if you forget something, they will answer most (if not all) of your questions and doubts

I too am hoping my AOS beat the deadline. We sent it a few days ahead of the cut-off date, but I haven't yet called to see if it's been logged into the system.

For the interview I'll be sure to have updated forms, but I think as long as I have just the page 6 with new 2013 data on it, that should suffice (for the AOS of both sponsor and joint sponsor.) I haven't checked the I-864a form yet to see what the joint sponsor's husband will need to fill in.

Do you think we need the pages with new signatures also?
