I'm adding myself to the list. I meant to create an account and do this when it happened but apparently I'm a procrastinator.

I finally got an answer today from Tier 2 that my biometrics are current (after a previous conversation with Tier 2 where they told me that it wasn't scheduled yet but would be and a failed Tier 1 service request where instead of telling me the status of my biometrics they sent me a copy of my NOA1 letter). I know we're all trying to figure out who gets it and who doesn't so I'll tell you my story. I'm here on a CR-1 visa BUT I changed from my maiden to my married name after I arrived (we were advised not to do it once we filed immigration paperwork) and so I did have a full biometric appointment about 2 months after I arrived.

It was kind of funny when I spoke to Tier 2 today. She felt the need to explain to me that fingerprints don't change so they don't need them again. Yeah... we all know that... but the process until recently was to take them again anyway. Then she followed it up by saying that they would let me know if they decided later that they do need another biometric appointment...

I thought everyone knew that was to make sure us USCs don't go swapping out our spouses for a different model. I know it must happen every day.

A question, have we figured out if out if its just those that adjusted status in the USA that are getting the biometrics current and no biometrics appointment? Has anyone with a CR-1 from outside the USA doing their ROC, gotten their bio letter since mid April?

Looks like they are back to normal... In the June filers' thread, some ex-K1 and AOS are receiving biometrics letters. Don't know what happened for about a month and a half. Maybe the ASCs were backlogged or something.

K-1 Visa Timeline AOS Timeline

- Aug 31st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F package - May 29th, 2012 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP package

- Apr 13th, 2012 - Visa received - Aug 24th, 2012 - Green Card received

ROC Timeline

- May 19th, 2014 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

- Aug 8th, 2014 - Green Card received

N-400 Timeline

- Dec 29th, 2021 - Filed online. Got notice that biometrics will be reused.

I just added us to the list for the Cal Svc Center. Something strange may be happening...


My first I-751 submittal was rejected for: wrong fee, and I had put the wrong birthdate for my K2 stepson :bonk: causing them to say he was not eligible to be on the same I-751 as my wife and to submit a separate I-751 since he was 22 at the time.

After I re-submitted with docs and correct info and fees, we got the NOA and "verification of Inclusion of a Dependent".

Then my K2 step-son received the biometrics appointment letter and went for the appointment about 5/28/14.

However, my K1 wife has not received any communication beyond the NOA dated 4/24.

Has anyone experienced this? Seems odd...

I guess I can't check status online without the biometrics letter application number?

You could get your new case # from tier 2 person. I was told my bio was current and I would not get my bio letter, so I asked tier 2 to give my new case # on the phone and she gave me :)

Just checked my case status online, it says on June 23, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Cant believe it was approved already. Im so thankful.

05/11/2018: Mailed documents I130, I485, I131,I693, NBC for Adjustment of Status

05/16/2018: Received Date/ Priority Date - NOA Received

05/25/2018: Received NOA Bio-metrics for I485 Appt: 06/10/2018

06/10/2018: Bio-metrics are completed

06/12/2018: Received RFE requesting for a Birth Certificate for both parents

07/28/2018: Responded to RFE, sent their non availability of birth certificate copy

08/02/2018: Online status changed to " Request for Evidence was Received"

08/29/2018: Made an info pass appointment requesting for expediting Travel document as parents had to travel India. Expedite request was rejected 

09/14/2018: I131 Parole document was Approved

Hi guys, I finally got my biometric letter after 2 months waiting for it. Now i am wondering that can I come and do an early biometric around 1 week. Do I need to call them to ask about that or just walk in?
