My IV fee for my Mum shows as paid and the DS-260 is available. I'm scared to fill it out - I just clicked on it and looked briefly, and clicked out of it again! Its so fricking detailed and I think I might need a glass of wine before I tackle it

My husband got so stressed with the educational and work history pieces in particular. Now I understand all the recommendations to print it and do it by hand before the electronic version is available, some of those questions really dig back! Good luck, I hope your dad's is soon to follow

can anyone help me out... the iv and aos bill shows paid. can i send the iv and aos packets then fill out ds 260? or the ds260 needs to be filled out first before sending the packets????

You can send in your AOS and IV documents before you fill out the DS-260. Since you already have the fees paid there shouldnt be any problem.

Some people have sent their supporting documents before the bill shows as paid, others wait - it really is up to you. I send in my AOS documents after that fee showed as paid and then my IV documents after I got the notification that my IV bill was ready and then filled out the DS-260 a couple days later. I didn't have any problems.

I called NVC today to ask if they already reviewed my AOS. The CSR said they just did today and there were errors at part 3 and 5 of Form I-864EZ. I asked if we are going to get an email today but she said we have to wait for a couple of day. I just found out that my husband put the wrong figure. He had put the amount on the first box of his W-2 instead of #37 of form 1040EZ (Adjusted Gross Income) and didn't send a transcript.

Anyone who have requested for the transcript of Federal Tax Return at IRS? Can my husband request online or should he request via post? We would prefer online just in case. I will appreciate your reply guys! Thanks!

You can send in your AOS and IV documents before you fill out the DS-260. Since you already have the fees paid there shouldnt be any problem.

thank you for the reply. i checked online but my lawyer have already completed the ds260 and im guessing it has already been sent to nvc since it shows a green check mark and it shows completed. but i have reviewed some of the info on the ds260 that my laywer sent, there was some typos and some wrong information. can that still be edited or not?

then i accidentally hit the sign button on the top for the ds260, would there be any effect on it?

It can be done online and you get it right away. Just have to create an account. You can also request it by postal mail if you want

It's really hard to say as there is no specific timeline. The safest bet is to holdon to your job until the interview. Once approved and you have the visa in your hand , you have 6 months to travel. I think at that point you can give your letter if resignation.

thanks for the reply! i was just wondering maybe after the interview and get my visa i cant work properly anymore due to too much excitement.. i dont think i can still bear 3months after getting the visa.. but thanks will consider ur opinion..

I did not use a lawyer - hopefully some who has will chime in with their knowledge

For the DS-260 it can not be changed after it is submitted/digitally signed. If there are mistakes then they will send you a checklist letting you know what needs to be corrected. I have seen on some of these posts that if they are small mistakes like typos, you can let them know at the interview and give them the correct information. I am not positive on that and I don't want to give you bad information, but I seem to remember some other people having similar issues earlier in this thread. Please let me know if I am wrong about that...

Also, I would also check with your lawyer since not everything was filled out correctly and I am sure they can give you any advice as to what would be the best thing to do.

I just called NVC and my ds261 has been accepted. The lady on the phone said a couple more days to pay the iv fee.

Anyone have any tips on how soon I should start calling the NVC about case status after I received the email stating to wait 20 business days to review our documents? We got that email on the 19th of this month, so it's really only been a few days, but obviously we're anxious to move along with either a checklist or case complete.

Is the full 20 business days for review pretty normal for those who have reached that point?

Hi. so I got a checklist for my checklist because I asked on here, and if they ask for a checklist you need to resend THE ENTIRE FORM,, NOT just the page it was quoted as being incorrect. I'll have to dig, but i know Saylin told me I only needed to send in just the one sheet (the checklist was because I forgot to fill out a box, and unlike the checklist for my sponsor it did not say to resend the entire form)

Question:

I'm filling out the DS-260 and it asks about my husband's high school. He went to high school under a different last name due to a clerical error. Should I just put that he didn't go to high school?
