Oh, this is so cool! Thank you! You just helped me figure out the day our number was assigned (didn't know before). I did come up with a different date, though. We're also 571, but I came up with March 12... Any idea why the difference? Thank you.

My bad!!! Can't look at a table any more oops8rh.gif .

Hi Saylin! Would you please correct a couple things in the spreadsheet? Our case number was assigned on 3/12, not 3/14 as I had posted (waiting__________ helped me figure out the correct date!). Also, our case was transferred to California, just before NOA2. Thanks

Just an update on my email situation. I spoke with NVC today to find out if they are receiving my packets as I was not getting any auto response. Person stated they cannot see that and neither can their supervisor. She said she spoke to her supervisor who is going to speak to someone who can actually see into the NVC inbox and call me to let me know if they are getting their emails. I didn't bet on them calling me back so I sent the packet one more time because someone earlier on here mentioned trying to send it in during regular business hours which I hadnt done. So I sent it after the phone call this morning and I did get an auto response finally!!! So to those of you doing EP I would send it not only after you receive your EP Enrollment confirmation but also during business hours so that you have something from NVC stating they received your email.

March 6: AOS Packet sent EP (I did not know at the time but 3 attachments were JPEG's, only PDF's are accepted)

March 12: EP enrollment confirmation received

March 13: Resent AOS packet email as I am confused if they received original since EP enrollment confirmation was received by me after AOS was sent.

March 14: Resent AOS packet as I realized previous two packets had JPEG's in them. This is my first correct packet with all PDF's.

March 17: Resent AOS packet for the 4th time with all PDF's and finally got a confirmation of receipt. This one was the only one sent during "business hours"

The 3 digits after the 2014, in your case 571, signifies the day the case was assigned. One of the wiki's from VJ provided the info

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This marries the USCIS receipt number to your newly generated NVC number which is based on

EEEYYYYOOOSSS

You can get the ordinal day at: http://www.atmos.anl.gov/ANLMET/OrdinalDay.txt

I totally forgot about this! Thanks for sharing it :)

I had an interview today and my visa is approved.

Thank you for all of your help and advice.

I don't know how I could go through this by myself.

I had a joint sponsor (father in law) to fulfill the AOS requirement.

His income was enough for the poverty line so his wife (mother in law) did not believe I needed her I-864A even though they filed tax joint because the instruction said no need to fill I864A if the joint sponsor has enough income.

I convinced her to send me her I864A so that I can show it at the embassy if they ask me, just in case.

And they did told me that I needed her I864A since they filed tax joint.

If I did not find VJ, I never knew they require I864A for my case.

It was not easy, but it would have been harder without VJ and VJ members!

Congrats!!! :)

Hi Saylin,

I have complete call logs available for my wife to bring with her to the interview. I have instant message log available as well but is well over 1100 pages.

any suggestion? is it necessary for IM logs?

thanks,

Thanks so much, Saylin. I've asked her to get this amended ASAP. Also, she told me that she filed her taxes as a dependent on her parents. Will it still be possible to change her status to married?

Not sure how it works as a dependent. I have no experience with that laughing.gif

Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker and love all the great info thank you everyone for the great information. And a special Big thank you to Saylin!

I'm very confused about the AOS-package. I'm the benefitionary and we have lived away from the U.S for almost 10 years. We have also been married for that whole time. We have no income in the U.S, but easily we have sufficient income to

fill the AOS requirements. Do we still need a cosponsor?

Greatly appreciate all your help.

If you don't have US-based income (or foreign income that will continue), then you'll need a joint sponsor.

I was about to file I-864 for my mother too. But then i saw this statement "If the additional sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, he/she is considered a household member, and cannot fill out a separate I-864. The household member must execute an I-864A" written on the DOS website's Review Additional Embassy/Consulate PDF instructions.

I got my question because from this post sad.png

It'll be fine if your mother files an I-864 along with the petitioner. I only ever recommend an I-864A for spouses of a joint sponsor.

Hi Saylin! Would you please correct a couple things in the spreadsheet? Our case number was assigned on 3/12, not 3/14 as I had posted (waiting__________ helped me figure out the correct date!). Also, our case was transferred to California, just before NOA2. Thanks

thanks,

For chat/call logs, I'd recommend just taking a few from each month or every few months. 1100 pages is a little excessive :P

(Thank you for updating our info)

A pinned topic is just a topic that's pinned to a forum. It'll always stay at the top of the forums, no matter what. With non-pinned topics, if no one posts, then the topic will eventually get pushed further and further along, till it's on page 100 or something. And since the pinned topic is locked, you won't be able to post there. It's just for information purposes. This thread is for specific progress and any questions.
