I haven't replied to anyone about this as NLR said it perfectly. It's not required, no. If it was, as you said, it'd be posted on NVC's website. But, in most, if not all, cases, the CO has already made a decision on your case BEFORE you get to the interview. So, the thinking is, the more evidence they have beforehand (through the original I-130 submission as well as anything added afterwards, typically in the IV package), the higher the chances they'll approve it. But this is more important in high fraud countries. For places such as Canada and the UK, this isn't really needed as pretty much everyone gets approved, as long as everything is in order. But for MENA countries, it's best to send more evidence in the IV package as that's where the most denials come from. So, if you (the general you, not you specifically) want to submit more evidence, no matter what country, then go ahead. I can't see how it would hurt. And if you don't want to, then don't. Obviously, if you don't end up submitting anything more in the IV package, bring it with you to the interview, in case they do ask to see more evidence.

Right, that's exactly how I understood it. Thanks for clarifying!

I didn’t send anything in with the IV, however we submitted joint account statements, proof of me being a beneficiary of my wife’s life insurance and pension plan and sworn affidavits of support from family and friends with the I-130.

I think for UK consulate this is enough and they wont care to see pages upon pages of Whatsapp messages!

Cheers

.... Just got an email from the NVC stating that my DS-261 was accepted for my stepson, and instructing me to pay the IV bill. Looks like it's still not available though, the status changed from "not available" to "not paid" and when I click on Pay, I still have no IV fee. One baby step closer...

I might need to be more assertive...

I called USCIS this morning to ascertain when (and if!) my case left TSC for NVC. The person on the phone was nice as pie, but she said they wouldn't be able to tell me when or if it was shipped to NVC. She could tell me I was approved (which, of course, I already knew), but as far as shipping out, there was no info.

Is this a case where I should have asked to speak to a Tier 2? My case status has not changed since 1/31, when my petition was approved.

Thanks.

Sukie

Yes, call back up and request a Tier 2. Someone there should definitely be able to tell you if the case has left yet or not.

Right, that's exactly how I understood it. Thanks for clarifying!

I didn’t send anything in with the IV, however we submitted joint account statements, proof of me being a beneficiary of my wife’s life insurance and pension plan and sworn affidavits of support from family and friends with the I-130.

For a standard case in the UK, that should be fine. Just bring whatever you have to the interview (in case they ask for it). Don't need pages and pages of messages though. For those types of things, I always recommend just bring one sample of conversation from each month or every few months. Doesn't need to be every single message!

Make sure you're on IE ;) And usually it's within a few business days from getting the email that the bill is truly invoiced and available to pay. So keep an eye out!

Hi, please see my signature and you will see how long it took Texas to mail out my petition. It will hopefully not take as long for you but Texas is the slowest with mailing them out. You will receive an email when they ship it out. Once you receive that email it should arrive at the NVC about a week later.

Hello,

Hopefully within the next 2 weeks we will be sending our AOS package, but the one doubt I have is my wife (the petitioner) has not filed her tax for 2013 yet. But she has her Tax returns for the years 2010,2011 and 2012. So I want to know whether we will get any checklist because of that. My wife always gets an extension to file her tax so she usually file by June every year. Will this be a problem for NVC?

USCIS:

2013 tax transcript or return is not required in your AOS until April 15th of this year (which is the deadline to file for taxes).

Thanks.

Sukie

I'm the same. Approved 1/31. Was at CSC. Called NVC and got the same response as you. So I called USCIS to ask when it was shipped out, the operator told me he had no way of knowing that.

Sorry Saylin, I have one last question regarding my medical/ds260 dilemma lol.

I have now cancelled my appointment under the instruction of the doctor’s surgery that carry out the medical as they have been asked by the Embassy not to book anyone in unless their papers have arrived at the Embassy. I was sent a cancellation confirmation email stating this.

I'm sure you remember, but I'll explain again just in case, I put "no" to the vaccination question on the DS260 and wrote in the explanation box that I will be having the vaccinations at my medical on the 20th Feb and will have proof at interview.

Now, I know you said it does not matter in the slightest that I am rescheduling as this happens all the time and that NVC will not even bother calling the medical place to check, but does this also apply if I currently have no booking at the medical place at all? I cannot reschedule at this point as I have no idea when my papers will be received at the Embassy.

So basically, I told NVC on the DS260 that I will be having my vaccinations on 20th Feb, but I have now cancelled this appointment under their instruction to wait, and currently am not booked in for an appointment at all. Please also note that Knightsbridge Doctors in London do not keep records of applicants that have cancelled. I know this because the woman I spoke to said I would have to have my case number to hand again when I call to rebook as my details have been deleted. In a nut shell I'm worried NVC will call Knightsbridge in London and ask "is he booked in for the 20th" and they will be like "we've not got him booked in at all".

I know I'm worrying over nothing and NVC don’t have anything to do with the medical process but I'm just being extra careful!

Thanks, and I promise this will be the last you hear of it!

Soooo upset! Just called the NVC and I STILL don't have a case number! Its been over the "10-20" business days! The lady was super rude (surprise, right?) after 30 minutes waiting I asked to talk to a supervisor, she put me on hold for 2 secs then told me there were no supervisors available! Such idiots! Any suggestions on what I should do?
