I-130 Approved in 5 Days at CSC!

So I just got an update from USCIS stating that my I130 Immigrant Petition has been approved. It was transferred for processing 1/24/14. Clearly it now gets sent to the NVC. My lawyer already has most of the documents listed in the "Guides" section, excluding things that are time sensitive such as up to date tax return transcripts, employment letter, pay stubs, etc. These are things that I will have scanned and sent to my lawyer within 24 hours.

If anyone else has advice or approximate timeframe from this point, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I hope anyone whose case has recently been transferred for processing gets a speedy approval like ours. Thanks!

9/15/12 - Married in Tbilisi, Georgia

7/15/13 - I-130 Application submitted

7/29/13 - NOA1 (Overland Park, KS)

1/22/14 - Case transferred to California Service Center, being processed

1/29/12 - USCIS Approval of I-130 Immigrant Petition

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

can u tell me when ur case transferred to the uscis local field office, ??????

because my case transfrred to USCIS local field office for additional processing in Junuarry 23.2014

so i wonder how long does it takes to be approved,

I received that notice on 1/21. Hopefully you get yours done today or tomorrow! Make sure you sign up for SMS/e-mail alerts with USCIS so you know right away. I got a text message at 11:00 EST last night.

Oh, wow, I was under the impression that it takes about 1 month once NVC receives all of the documents needed. That 5 months is going to be unpleasant.

From what I've seen it takes 2-3 months to go through NVC rather than 5.

This is wrong. After I got my case number my file sat for a month because they changed the fees and couldn't invoice our ds260, even with the delay it was only 2 and a half months from case number until interview.

Perhaps those "correcting" the five month quote should read a bit closer...poster said "...it should take no more than..." and that "Probably it will get through quicker". Both statements are, to my understanding, correct and both are consistent with cited wait times of 2-3 months (which are individual experiences and may or may not be reflective of the mean).

I was transferred on the 22nd and the Alien registration number was changed on the 27th. Still no NOA2, yet.

I hope that the CSC is not another black hole like the NBC.

If you carefully reread what was written, the poster says usually it takes no more than 5 months. Why is that "wrong"? You're wrong in saying that it was wrong.

You're pretty aggressive to many posters on these forums. I've been reading some of your posts and you're not very nice.

Why does there have to be a little bit of drama sprinkled in every thread, your response is more aggressive than her reply to the OP. The 5 month figure might scare people as looking at the data on this site it's rare.Can't we all just be happy for the OP?!

You are very lucky, ours was transfer to CA on Jan 14th, and alien # changed on 1/30. Congrats. The time for interview also depends on where the consulate is and how back up they are. Check to see the stats on you consulate, you might get a better idea on the time frame.
