Processing Time at Guangzhou for submission of Additional documentations after F2A approval?

Dear friends on VJ,

If you have any information about our situation, please help us out!

After the interview, my husband got the letter saying that the visa has been approved but he was required to submit some additional documentations required by the U.S Embassy in Guangzhou. We submitted that via CITIC bank 2 weeks ago in China. I filled out the inquiry form on US Embassy website to ask whether or not they have received our package, but I did not get any response from them yet. Is there any other way to contact them?

I am wondering how long it would take them to process our case, and when we can expect to get back our passport with the visa? We are in the F2A category.

Only way to contact them is through email via that embassy website, and they take 2-5 days (I think) to respond. Don't expect miracles as you might get a useless automated response. (That's what I got from them.) You can also try the Dept of State hotline - they may have some info if the email response is worthless.

This is not what I expected. I am expecting someone who can stand out to help us but not removing my thread. Do you happen to know the answer or know someone who has gone through the same process?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Do you mean the NVC hotline? What's DoS hotline? May you please give me more info about that? Thank you!!!

The DOS hotline Darnell refers to is not the NVC, it is this number here: (202) 485-7600. It is answered from 0830 to 1700 Eastern Time.

Do you think the NVC may know the status as the case is already in GuangZhou ?

You should call them, nowish, as they are open now.

hi Darnell，

Called DOS this morning, a guy named Brad told me they no longer perform this function starting 1/27/2014. He told me to call NVC to find out any info regarding an IV. He said if NVC can't help I can call back so they may help me instead. He insisted that I need to call NVC.

Then called NVC, spoke with Bruce, he basically blamed me for it was my own fault that I did not submit the documentation at interview. Then he said he can't help. He insisted me to call the embassy directly. I told him embassy doesn't answer visa question by phone, but he insisted that I should do so.

I then called back the DOS line. Another person picked up the phone, and I told him what happened when I called NVC, and asked if he might help. He said NO. I mentioned what Brad said earlier, but he doesnt give a damn. He told me to use the embassy's web form. I told him I already did that 3+ weeks ago and got no reply. He said I can only keep waiting. Then he hung me up.

So hopeless... I got a phone number for GuangZhou embassy, but I highly doubt they will tell me angthing if I call. I will give a try in their business hours though.

Darnell/Ryan, any advice please?
