Hi,

My husband applied for Spouse Visa two months ago our case status is initial review witch is great so far. He`s a US citizen and I live Abroad in Europe, looking through all these documents and examples I got very confused!

I was going to start preparing all paperwork we need for NVC but I couldn't find the address and from some reasons and tips from other people got information that my husband supposed to send all documents needed for NVC to USCIS office too, so they send them to NVC not my husband.

He sent to USCIS office all application forms and documents needed and we thought the rest of the documents witch are

Last 3 years IRS Tax Transcripts, original employment latter....goes to NVC and we send them there.

I checked the guides but I still can not figure it out we did right or wrong.

I need help very much, We haven`t hired a Lower and we weren't planing on it.

Thank you very much!

Greetings!

USCIS initial I-130 petition does in fact require you to send in alot of (copies) of documentation, which the folks above have pointed you to. You petition has to be processed and approved at one of the Visa Processing Centers. The time btwn I-130 petition receipt (NOA1) and approval (NOA2) is running btwn 6-11mths. Once approved, you case gets transferred to the NVC to start consular processing. The NVC (National Visa Center) will assign their case/file # once they have your case in their possession (seems to be a delay in this process by 2-3wks). They will initiate documenation requests from you (which will be the original or certified copies of the same (legal) documents you sent with your petition. Do not attempt to send anything to the NVC that theyve not requested from you. Tgey druve the process from this point. When they have everything from you that they need AND you've paid fees and completed all other applications, if and when they are happy, they wi pass you to the Consulate. The Consulate will schedule and conduct your interview....you will get all of your original/certified legal documents back from the consulate at your interview. Its good if you have all of your documents gathered for the NVC so you can be ready when they start that process with you. Dont forget about Police Certificates and more passport photos. Hang tight and be patient....this is a long process.
