Check the November thread for NVC stage, first two posts are really useful there. Congrats and do update your timeline! :)

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Now you need to become a professor of the NVC process. Begin by reading the LingChe NVC guide here on the VJ wiki.

The first thing you need is a Case number and IIN (Invoice Identification Number). You can get these by calling the NVC. Give it about a week or two before calling. After that, call every day, twice a day. Don't be discouraged if they don't yet have your file, they will get it eventually. Just keep calling until you get those two numbers.

As for now, begin to prepare by making sure you have your original birth certificate, a police certificate from Jamaica and any other country you might have lived for more than 6 months (US excluded). If you've ever done military service, get a military certificate. Download and begin to fill out DS-230 - This is your immigrant visa application. The mentioned certificates need to be included with this application.

Your husband should start preparing the I-864 Affidavit of Support. Make sure he has IRS tax transcripts from the last 3 years. If he does not, these can easily be ordered from the IRS. If he is currently working, stock up on his latest pay stubs, and maybe an employer letter or job contract. If he does not meet income requirements, begin looking for a co-sponsor.

Congrats! You are a lot closer to your interview date!!

Do not get Police record for Jamaica until its requested

they last only 6 mths, U also need to obtain 6 PP photos

U can try getting some vaccines at free clinics, or lower

cost if U don't have a completed shot record, I imagine the

child record is up to date, both PP should have over six mths

expiration left on them.

After all is done at NVC U will receive a date with a checklist

of what U should present at interview, schedule medical the

day date is received, Andrews am told is the better place if

U R in kgn.......good luck

You mean the DS-260 and DS-261 right? The DS-230 is obsolete.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hiya guys ,

Thank you so much for feedback, I have started filling out DS-230, will let hubby have it with Police Record when I do it over, they took so long to respond, so I doubt the one I did before is still valid,

To the person who asked how we knew it was transferred, hubby and I had registered for email and text alert for any changes to our file. So we got text and email. He left this morning and we got another text and email informing us of status update, and letting us know the case has now been shipped to Department of State, My Question Is DOS the same NVC?

I will have to send hubby new pp too, the ones he had are over 6 months old now. yes I did hear about Andrews and I buy my lunch at there canteen when I am work, re my vaccines, when I called my doctor who is Medical Associates who also does medical, they informed me not to go ahead and take any shots, as they will tell me what I need. My daughter is up to date yes, I am not sure what my parents were up to, I sent to the rural area for records and the records says I only got 2, lol.

Thank you guys for the feedback again, Now i need to navigate and figure out how to update timeline. lol.

Hiya all ,

I see that someone said DS- 230 is obsolete, However I read somewhere that the DS-260 and DS-261 are to be used if the consulate is one that uses the paperless route, I did not see Jamaica in that list of countries. so I took that to mean I will have to fill out DS-230. Am I right? DS-260 and DS-261 seem easier to submit though. guess I will have to wait on DOS directive.

You are speaking two different things. There's EP (Electronic Processing) that a select few embassies do (about 10 now). Jamaica not one of them. They submit at the NVC stage all documents and forms electronically.

Now for the DS-260 (took place of DS-230) and DS-261 (took place of DS-3032) is now the only forms to use at NVC for EVERYONE. Regardless if you are an EP country or not.

Please come to the NVC filers thread read post #1 and #2 and get familiar with all you will need to do at NVC.
