Hello Folks,

I am too filing for Naturalization but my window opens on November 28 and that weekend will be Thanksgiving weekend so not sure if the mail will work that weekend. Anyone knows this?. If they don't then i will submit my form on December 2 so that will make me a December filer i guess.

In any case, it will be interesting to see the developments of each case on the November filers.

Good luck to all.

BTW, i have my form and document completed and ready to send!

Thanks. Yes, I have completed filling in the forms but yet to print them out. I'll drop you a line should I require any assistance. I'll go over the forms several times in the next couple of days just to be sure everything is OK. My window is tomorrow October 31, but I want to wait for a few days before mailing out the documents. I'm not sure as to how to make the signature...I haven't looked into it yet. I'll go ahead and see how I can make that.

I'm not a November filer, but had a similar problem with some of my trips. If you went to Canada by plane/bus/train and bought tickets online, try searching your e-mail for reservation confirmations etc. listing exact travel dates. If you traveled by private car, that of course won't work, but in that case I'd check any photos you may have taken (digital photos have dates assigned to them after all) or credit card statements for purchases made across the border. If you had to take time off work or e-mailed your family to arrange trip details, e-mail records can also be a treasure trove of information. That can help you approximate the dates when you were out of the country.

But if you can't figure out exact dates, I'm sure approximate dates will work, too. They have our travel records after all and can check if there's any doubt about time spent out of the country.

Welcome guys,

I agree with what otta said myself i didnt remember some of them but i had to go to my flight bookings online/emails, hotel reservations, airline flying blue account etc before i could get them together. So you might wanna try that and see where it takes you first before looking into other option of approximation.

Meanwhile, your approximation will be better over approximated to cover yourself up.

Happy i just printed my filled out application form now with other docs in preparation for next 2weeks.

Wish everyone good luck.

@ fabulous02 congrats on sending it out, that's a great relieve for you i'm sure.

@benanddawn

You are on the right track. If you look at uscis website links below:

http://www.uscis.gov/n-400

This link said the below:

Edition Date

03/22/12; (06/17/11; 01/18/11; 11/23/10; 04/05/10; 01/15/10 and 01/22/09 editions also accepted).

A new edition of this form is coming soon. In the meantime, customers may file using the 3/22/12 edition. Editions dated 06/17/11, 01/18/11, 11/23/10, 04/05/10, 01/15/10 and 01/22/09 may also be accepted.

http://www.uscis.gov/news/public-releases-topic/citizenship-or-naturalization/continue-use-current-form-n-400-application-naturalization

This link now explains further that:

Until further notice, applicants should continue using the March 22, 2012, edition of Form N-400 currently available on the forms section of www.uscis.gov. This form should continue to be used even after the OMB control number expiration date of March 31, 2013, has passed. Additional acceptable editions of the form, as indicated on the form page, may also be used. USCIS will provide updated information about the new version of the Form N-400 as it becomes available later this year.

Now the form you filled out is still valid and i used same.

@Jewel4life Thank you! I just realized it was listed on the uscis site as to its validity. I'll mail out my application next week. I have assembled all the needed documents. I'll keep y'all posted!

I have one more question: I have a son (8 years) who is in Ghana. He's in a very good school and not looking at coming here any time soon. He lives with my dad and he's well taken care of. I have listed him on all my immigration forms. I have just listed him on my form-400 application for naturalization as well. Do I need to include a letter from my dad confirming I financially support him?

Thanks, folks!
